Crazy to have a gun in the kitchen drawer with kids around.

Big laugh when gun was seen in drawer! Thanks for the vid. Shasta is beautiful especially when full of water!

This was great! Thank you for the honesty. We have twice before rented a patio boat through Bridge Bay, and have been totally pleased with the experience. We thought the staff both times were tremendous. We have considered doing the house boat thing, but, it's only my wife and I. We don't want to share lol! So, its too expensive for just the two of us and it looks like too much work. We are mostly spontaneous with our trips, and you made the case for WHY we are spontaneous. Weather, and FIRES. I am soooo sorry that you had to experience the Carr fire. What bad timing, and obviously a horrific event that decimated beautiful Whiskeytown lake. We've traveled to Shasta three times, and twice, we did a spur of the moment thing. Good weather. No fires, lets go. We stayed at Bridge Bay once. It was a nice stay. Did a video on it. We typically go late Summer or September when the crowds are gone, but who knows during this COVID year as everyone is out and about. Next visit, we're gonna try the Silverhorn Marina.

At 1:19, that little girl and her Vanna White moves is worth the price of admission !! Still laughing ! 67 year old wanna be a grandpa ! From Sacramento, "I" have always wanted to rent a houseboat on Shasta OR Berryessa. Have yet to get there !

You should do it pretty soon. We love it and go once or twice a year, but it just keeps getting more and more expensive. Get yourself a good deckhand because driving those stakes in some of that shoreline can be a pretty good workout sometimes. Any of the trouble or work has been worth it, though.

Bummer you guys didn't have the best experiences. Bridge Bay Resort have sucky boats. We're going in October getting a boat from Shasta Marina. The $ is a lot more but we're prepared for difference in cost. We have family there in that area, but used to live there and get a houseboat about once a year. I personally hate having to go back to California but I will enjoy visiting with the family. Approximately between 20 to 30 people at any given time will be there. There will be other boats. I appreciate your review though it gets me back into the swing of things.

Shelley Vidal that’s good to know about the Shasta Marina. Might have to try that next time. Thanks for watching and I hope you enjoy your family trip.

I enjoyed your story ! Yup gas costs a lot, just the price they have to pay to haul it up the hill for out enjoyment. It takes a few trips to know how to prepare and when you get that figured out it's a lot easier and that's when you smile more and worry less ...... Just like things at home things are gonna break, circle of life and just take it with a smile and some knowhow. Put a life jacket on the kids and turn 'em loose, experience is the best teacher and they need to fall down and get back up, not better place !

What was the cost.... $2400 he said. But still cool.......

We got ours through bridgebayhouseboats.com and the cost was $2300 for a 5 day/4 night rental (plus taxes).

@@andreatackett9073 It's the dead of winter 2022 and that water is cold, but we're going next week. At Bridge Bay it's $2333 for 7 nights on a Cascade, a smaller version of the Summit you rented. Except for the Carr Fire, your trip was at a good time. Water level was nice and high which makes getting a good flat beach easier and I'm glad you got to enjoy the water slide on Little Backbone. Sometimes it's hard to get to it. Another blessing of high water.

It is worth it for a bigger group to split the costs.
@andreatackett90734 жыл бұрын
Hi I Am Yes but depending on the group size you might want to upgrade to the next model. It’s called the grand Sierra because of the second bathroom it has and the slide I think it’s the best option that we would get if we go back with a group. Overall it’s just more space. Like I said in the video I couldn’t imagine us being on this Summit boat with another family because it just seemed like we would have been on top of each other the whole time. DEFINITELY WORTH SPLITTING THE COST WITH OTHERS BECAUSE ITS SO EXPENSIVE.

Don't ever go without a gun. We've had both bears and snakes on our houseboat at Shasta. Still, I wouldn't trade those 25 years houseboating during 4th of July for ANYTHING!

Man great video, I loved it... The gun should be locked up with kidlets loose...... Huge worry for me, even though I love guns.... My poor child would be in life vest every second, just things I worry about. But great video, I would love to live on a houseboat!!!!!!
@byrontackett86622 жыл бұрын
I always teach the importance of gun safety to my children and that it is not a toy for them. They know not to touch unless we are at the range together. When you are in a tight spot and need a gun quick the other will not wait for you to unlock yours.
