Thanks. I'm building a 1000 HP Chevy inline 6 292 with 6-71 blower and 5 stage dry sump. Now I can ask the right questions and understand the answer. Question for the pros, I have a 6.0 ls lq4 and boring it .40 over. Wisco pistons. Should I put .028 of first ring and .030 on second ring for turbo and 93 octane gas??? Or only go on gap .028 on first and .026 on second ring gap? I have people saying 2 different things.

The ring is only a tiny not statistically significant part of piston heat dissipation! There’s not enough mass in the rings to dissipate the heat from a piston. That’s the biggest line of BS I’ve heard!
