Don’t get me wrong I’m not advocating for more OP abusive stricter Cop SOPs. They just need to have a better balance on how to handle swapping/chases. That’s favorable for both sides. Because shooting and ramming / spam tasing is not the answer.

there should just be a limit on car swaps. its unrealistic to have 6 cars staged and just swap everytime and not expect to get shot or whatever.imo 2 swaps MAX. swaps should be a planned part of the heist not a crutch

​@@TheAngryBiker93the point being made was that if a crim escapes, mechanically / in game speaking, cops don't lose anything, they just move onto the next chase/crime/interaction, whereas if crims don't get away they spend time in jail. However, that kind of win/lose mentality is why RP of any form, whether tabletop like DnD, forum /other forms of text based RP / adventure, or video game RP, is not for overly competitive people. People that are too competitive that play RP even semi regularly, usually end up devolving into childish "Nuh uh I didn't lose" or outright berating either other players, the DM/GM, or cops/staff/admins in this kind of case, until they stop RPing out of babyrage. Roleplay isn't about winning or losing, and as such isn't something you can win or lose overall, whether you fail, succeed, crit fail, or crit succeed at something is just another avenue for furthering RP and storylines. While yes, in a "cops and robbers RP" like GTA RP typically goes, crims intrinsically have more to lose than the PD does, but that's why (aside from server rules) crims don't have any real boundaries as far as how they go about the things they do aside from gang politics maybe, whereas PD/government have things like SOPs, chain of command etc. That they are expected to follow and can be disciplined up to and including losing their job for violating, so it is a fair duality between the two, especially when you factor that in MOST cases, cops have to have a legitimate reason and justification to shoot someone, where the possibility of a crim just randomly setting up an ambush or opening fire is always present. Competitive people need to stop roleplaying though. It's always the people that are overly competitive that can never take any form of perceived L, and they're always the ones that get toxic as a result.

Super competitive people have a hard time understanding that RP isn't something you can "win" and whether you succeed or fail at something, it's still just another avenue to create and further RP and storylines. When super competitive people play RP, ESPECIALLY if it's semi regularly, at least once a week, they usually start devolving into being the annoying kid that would pull the whole "nuh uh, I'm not dead, that didn't kill me because I put up a force field" unless they're forced into a situation where they can't pull that, and if they can't, it usually leads to then berating other players / other players and/or admins/cops (in this case), or other players and/or the GM/DM until they eventually stop roleplaying out of babyrage.

Remember when summit used to mald because cop cars were so OP in NP, like that one video where he can’t hold his tongue (I love it btw). 1/4 honestly might be slightly crim favored, like 50/50 would be perfect, but I’d rather that than 3/4 cop. The game is called grand theft auto, I feel like the crimes having a slight advantage is correct. If they keep using that same strat the cops needs to adapt to that. During a chase literally have one unit chillen on the bottom of the bridge at all times. This is a massively popular server, there are enough cops at any time to do this.

That's actually crazy. I've been listening to him complain from the crim side for years. I've seen him swap infinitely many times, then complain about how the cops are going too hard. If realism is what should be the limiting factor, the rule for if a thing is ok or not, then I have DEFINETLY seen him do shit that you would not walk away from that would be therefore not cool. 1 million people could try their luck and not one would survive, IRL that is. I've seen him get completely boxed by 4 cop cars and slam his car into the cop cars at full throttle infinitely many times until he eventually flips one of the cop cars with his car and then bombard his way out of there and drive off.

well think about the stakes; if a cop fails to catch a crim nothing happens to them but if a crim gets caught, they get fined and spend time in jail. are they supposed to just not try? crims also have much more limited options while the police have ramming, tazing, spike strips, and just more people. overall, to me, it just sounds like the SOPs need to be changed (but when summit/hutch's first reaction is to just completely disregard the SOPs then how is change ever gonna happen)

A lot of people will call cops shitlords just because they took an L and it comes from crims who are actual shitlords. It really comes down to the roleplay you give is what you'll receive. It's interesting to see the changes throughout the years from Role players. Hutch and his friends have been on the other side and have stated the same things in the past and it's true. Cops still remain the most important component for RP, they're RP enablers who take L's as much as I hate to say it, they're best as NPC's. They should just have you take damage on hard impacts. EZ PZ. Harness should help and maybe a helmet too. The more messed up your vehicle the more damage you take. Makes them spend a buttload on meds and they will have to spam spam spam.

Cop cars drive so much faster so crime rp-ers have to go all the way to get away, car balance forces crime rp-ers to use all the tricks in the book. In the good old times were GTA driving was not allowed or limited, police chases were about skill nowadays its about taking the most idiotic jumps to be able to get way. GTA5 RP can become a very very toxic spot if you play to win and your aim is not the RP but wining. Both Hutch and Summit displayed that W behaviour in this chase so that makes them part of the problem.

i would say after 3 swap pitting at any speed is open game, or shooting tires out should be permited! kinda broken that you can just keep swapping and swapping and swapping and swapping

It's not broken when cops literally have all the resources.. More durable vehicles, harder base ramming even at low speeds, vehicles that can swap from A to S+, Air 1, 40 units, bikes, emp's, spikes, they run faster, get up faster after falling, etc etc.... yeah, swapping shouldn't be a problem. Playing cops is all about coordination. With good coordination and having units set up at key locations, it wouldn't be much of a problem. Also, learning how to take an L would help.

The thing is that cops look like their playing with his kids, just letting them run around, crashing them, letting them do wtv util the criminals just fuck it up or get away. The cops don’t impose any treat to criminals, it’s like a very easy difficulty set for criminals and a npc role for cops.
