TRD used to make a 'factory' blower when the 2nd generation Tundra came out. Factory tune, factory warranty. I'll never forget how awesome it was.

What a fantastic option ! Thanks for watching Charles

TRD never made a factory blower. TRD partnered with Magnuson and had them build the blower with a TRD logo on it. But yes, if purchased as an option through a Toyota Dealer, then it maintained the Factory warranty. Not sure why this option went away... I'm sure it's just political optices of selling gas guzzling options...

Had the TRD Blower on my 98 Tacoma 4x4. What a difference!! Surprised a lot of people with that truck!! Getting ready to install the Magnuson in my Tundra!! Cant wait!! I had to convince the Wife I needed it for towing purposes....to be honest I dont think She believed me.
@ToddVandervoort-b9q9 күн бұрын
@@eriknash8783 Surprising enough your gas milage will stay close to the same as it is without the Blower. Of course you'll find yourself hitting the skinny pedal a lot more often which of course hurts millage.

Good review video! Short and to the point. I’ve always been interested in either the Magnuson or Whipple supercharger series. This video was a great reminder.

Great Video!!! I had the dealer install my TRD Super Charger in my 98 Tacoma. Was planing on doing it myself for my Tundra Since I'm retired and have plenty of time on my hands.

I have a 2020 and put a Harrop on mine. I would suggest to anybody who’s putting a supercharger on a Tundra to also look into a modified transmission valve body if you want longevity…

Awesome!!! Were you thinking about the Whipple also? I have a 2021 Dodge Durango RT, Tow N Go (all SRT parts but has the 5.7 engine). I'm on the fence between Magnuson and Whipple 3.0 Gen 6 that's coming out. However, I'm reading a bunch of bad reviews on Whipple in numerous Online auto forums. And the Whipple only provides a 1-year warranty versus Magnuson's 3-year. Your thoughts? 🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁🏁

I'll take a blower over a Turbo every time!! You get more power across the whole power range unlike a turbo.

I thought you needed to do a tune before driving it. Is that not the case?
@marcmarc4776Ай бұрын
So you don't have to buy a tuner for it?

Thanks for the video man! How many miles is on that? I have a 2009 with 147k on it. I was thinking about one of these, but didn't know if my vehicle is too old or not.
@SummitRacing2 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching ! This truck had about 90k on it when it was installed. as for your 147k truck as long as it's in good health and properly maintained go for it !

What gas do you have to use? Can you stick with Reg, or need to use Premium.

Nice. Wonder how long the engine will last.

You’ll have to make sure you stay on top on maintenance especially regarding oil, fuel, and coolant (changing coolant out every 50k instead of 100k would be advisable). Making sure you have a fresh fuel filter and strong OEM pump would also be advisable, but as long as it’s sub 8psi it’ll run for a long time. These engine are built like tanks. Keep it cool, keep it lubed, and make sure it has plenty of high quality fuel. That’s the key with boosted engines like these.

I have a 2013 tundra with 161K miles on it. Is the truck too old/used to put one of these on it? Do I risk ruining my engine, transmission etc?
@troy81345 ай бұрын
Have the motor refreshed and you’ll be good to go. Even with a brand new truck you always run the risk of ruining something depends on how you take care of the truck and how you treat it

Hey Jus I just got a 2010 tundra with magnetson supercharger the sale guy told me it using regular fuel, is this correct?

it is premium pump gas Friendly !
@user-in4uf7to5d2 ай бұрын
But, what if you go a little bit deeper into the engine, like to replace OEM pistons with cast iron one?will you still have to use a premium fuel?@SummitRacing @blue_basin
@Aphelion79Ай бұрын
@@user-in4uf7to5d YES USE PREMIUM FUEL The stock 5.7 has WAY less timing retard with premium fuel as it is. 91+ octane resists pre-detonation avoiding engine knock which is the +1 killer of forced induction vehicles.
