This feels like a reverse Nagisa situation where the mc in dub sounded more masculine while sub was more feminine. Here it’s definitely the opposite. Like if this was a radio drama you would assume the mc is a girl.

While she's not actually his girlfriend, this actually sounds like a pretty good premise for an isekai. You could have a guy get summoned to another world who already had a girlfriend on Earth, and he eventually manages to contact Earth and ask her permission to summon her over as well. Alternatively, there could be an age gap of nearly a decade between a couple when the older one dies and gets reincarnated in another world, so once he/she grows up and learns to summon his/her old partner, the age gap is then reversed.

I can see that as a plausible issekai story but the problem is what would be the time flow be between earth and the new world it would be kind of awkward if the time flow was 40 or 50 years and the main character is barely 15 in the new world so everybody thinks they are into cougars

There was kind of a reversed story of this where the main character got summoned/ reincarnated in another world as the Sage (not the hero), they went on the whole journey with the entire party knowing he was reincarnated and they beat the demon lord, as they agreed the Mc used the remnents of the demon lords power to transport himself back to Earth, the whole party said their goodbyes (no betrayal) and BOOM Mc's back in japan. only now its 20 years later (yes Mc is 16 and was a sage at 16), he goes home to find it gone with his whole family ether dead or long since moved away, in his confusion a girl helps him out and because he was very confused she takes him home (apparenlty that's a good idea), Mc gets a good look at her and sees that she looks exactly like his childhood friend before he can ask any questions her mom bursts in and scolds the girl for taking a stranger home, after a bit she finally introduces herself and turns out the Mother is his childhood friend. i haven't read it in a while but i know he had romantic interest i his childhood friend but nothing really came of it also it was worse because apparently Mc looks exactly like he did before he was isekaied so the childhood friend finds him a bit unnerving (blast from the past and such) ANYWAY turns out there is magic on earth and the Childhood friend is unknowingly involved it a demon dispute for her blessed/cursed eyes and daughter is fighting to protect her so mc just joins in.

Sometimes, Dub version makes more sense than the Sub version. I only watch both to spot the difference. Either way, this Series is considered one of the best Reincarnated Isekai Anime Series by far.(Did the MC have a Female VA in this one? He sounds like a Female all of the sudden.🤔)

His voice .... is way too feminine. In the original Japanese his voice is softer, but you can still tell the MC is a young boy. But the dub was just a really bad casting decision. It might be different if the VA at least tried to sound like a young boy, but this just doesn't work. Japanese voice actresses are really good at playing both female and male characters. But it just doesn't work the same way for some English voice actresses. I think I'll be sticking with the original Japanese version.

Bit at least the dad (who seems to be an uncle) was cast very well.
