I just finished watching every single one of these. As odd and quirky as you make the tutorials, I've loved every one of them and am now much more familiar with RPG Maker MV. Thank you so much and I look forward to more if you plan to do more! Out of curiosity, is there a way to do a not so traditional battle system? Like...instead of RPG battle style, your character can have some kind of attack? Similar to an old school Zelda Game. If not, I understand, and if it get's too complex, I understand that too. Just curious! Thanks again!

Hey. I have watched all of your tutorials and even though I knew some of the stuff I could learn a lot. so thanks for that. It's a pity that I will probably never know what is going to happen to Ti and Lucia, the potato girl. To my question regarding battle mechanics - is there a way (or even a tutorial) on how to implement a battle system with a battlegrid (like in chess) for a more tabletopish kind of gameplay?

Just finished this tutorial, I spent all day going through each of these and I gotta say, this was EXACTLY what I was looking for. A clear and concise guide through almost every feature that gives a perfect foundation for starting up. I am very happy I found this tutorial and now that I've gone through it all, I am definitely gonna make some sick RPGs. Thanks again for making this series!
@Knurrbauch17 жыл бұрын
I' am sure you can do this with the MV too, but with Pictures you can create your own Menu and create some Minigames. For examples I recreated my own version of DDR/Stepmania just with pictures and variables in the RPG Maker 2003. I think if you go further you can even create a figthing game with pictures if you put time and effort into it. Just adding that Information for anyone who wants to know.

I just finished your whole series, and I have to say thank you so much for making this. You kept it entertaining, easy to understand, and also showed specific and general uses for everything. Taking in engine-provided help text can be daunting, but you broke it down into easily watching bites that stayed focused. Gonna start trying to make my first games now, and I wouldn't have been able to without your help!

That's such a dirty way to get a sign in place I love it! basically using a loop as a placeholder and using a break statement to then trigger the inverse animation as the resolution. The loop is dirty because it is constantly going and locks you into having to press Z to break. If you didn't do that and just made a conditional I'm guessing you could move around and then press Z to make the animation go away.

Fantastic tutorial series... Very easy to understand and follow you. I'd love to see you actually make a game, properly, and allow us to watch you as you make it... So instead of tutorial, we can come along for the ride as you input lots of crazy cool stuff, design maps for towns, overland maps, dungeons, etc. ENB did a series where he actually recorded him making a game, and showed a lot of the coding he would be using, but this is far easier to do.

So I just bought RPGmaker MZ because I have an idea for a game I want to make So Bad. I know it’s probably gonna take years of practicing and beginner games that aren’t that good before I can get to the level necessary for the type of project I want to do, but I’m fine with doing that work. However your videos are really helping this Luddite figure this already simplified game maker out. I’m kind of an idiot when it comes to tech. I can barely download minecraft mods. So thanks for explaining things so clearly and concisely (and with a great sense of humour!) since I have no idea how this stuff works.

Hi man, been bench watching your tutorials, gave me a lot of good understanding for the program with my oncoming project. I was thinking I would have a bit more dynamic level up system which would allow the player to choose from a list of skills to learn when leveling up. Do you have any tips for how I could make a textbox that updates the text to patch the current highlited choice? Kind of gonna need a way to let the player know what the skills would do ^.^'
