Sun Cooker: Cardboard & Aluminized Mylar from Japan

This cooker appeared in my daily web crawl alert for new web references to solar cooking. It was offered as part of a crowd-funding campaign launched by Toyo Aluminum in Japan. The site is Makuake.com/widget/project/suncooker/wide/ , Makuake is a lot like KickStarter.

I agree. It is one of many reflective panel cookers that show how simple it is to cook with sunlight: Catch the sun, reflect it to a pot, trap the heat...voila, get fed!

A quick one, the design looks effective. If a bit small, but for rice small can work...how fast and how hot would be interesting to know. The paired glass bowl greenhouse... the small black pot... raised positive in the reflectors... a lot of potential in the combination.
