I live in Atlanta but I visit the Tampa area...Albert Whitted Airport is a great airport...I have come a long way since flying there but when I flew into there I was a newly minted private pilot and flying into a runway half the size I was used to surrounded by water played with my mind for a moment...just have to remember it doesn't matter what is around the runway...so much fun in St. Pete/Tampa area I highly recommend visiting

The first time I flew in I had the same issue! “Did I read that runway length right?” Now it’s great flying in over either the city or water. Great airport to bring someone new to general aviation

If you ever make it to Fort Worth Texas go to the Press Cafe. The best food along the Trinity River that serves local brew. Plus there's a ton of local airports.
