I saw a video a few years ago that I cannot find again. It was about apparent flat concentric planes on the ocean. As you in crease height above sea level, the more distant the horizon. It become concentric circles as each step taken increases height. The point is the left and right view of the horizon is flat until great heights are reached. It seems as one looks our at the horizontal plane, the horizon is flat. At some point that you look down more than out, you are seeing the perimeter of the circle more down than out. I tried to show a rotating view as a transit setup in the center. If you put the crosshairs on the horizon, the sights remain on the horizon and comes back to the starting point, hence left and right are level. At the concentric circles extent out you are seeing over previous circles.m

Another SIMPLY wonderful graphic demo of the features of our globe. The geometric simplicity of the concordance of angles to the sun on our spherical Earth is such a strong proof of its shape, one must assume that those still clinging to the FE memes are either completely without critical faculties or utter contrarians..... or in the case of the FE ILLuminaries; grifters in search of the next fool. For myself, ever in search of prose that conveys with such simplicity the features of our globe, inspired more than a little by your fine videos, I have added a rebuttal to the FEer's bold statement, "there is no gravity; only density and buoyancy", asking them what force causes the display on their smartphone to flip from portrait to landscape with a simple turn of the wrist. Only one FEer has attempted, very poorly, to explain the function without mention of gravity. They all appear to be dumb-founded....... no surprise there, I guess. Thanks, again, for providing another compelling and visually-appealing proof of our global Earth. It is encouraging to view your videos.

Yes sure, it is obvious and I am not denying it. Even though this animation is fine and 100% correct, it doesn't really show the silliness of the flat earth model (even though it undeniably is) cause the whole argument relies on a subjective opinion you had by judging the motion as 'silly', since there is no silly motion in the universe (take for example the perihelion precession of mercury, by the same logic we could've made the bold assumption that Newtonian dynamics are false) I think that the parallel lines and the horizon arguments are still better to show the silliness of the flat earth.
@josleys2 жыл бұрын
Flat Earthers always show a sun circling above a flat Earth, between the tropics. An orbit that stretches beyond the "ice wall" must be "silly" in their eyes. What the video shows is that a sun circling above a flat Earth is impossible, hence flat earth is impossible. I think that is a great argument.
@fromnorway6432 жыл бұрын
Any model with a small and local sun in _any_ kind of orbit above a flat earth is silly because that sun's angular size would change greatly during the day and it would _always_ be day _everywhere_ since such a sun would never set.
@YouToobeism2 жыл бұрын
@@fromnorway643, and lest we forget, without gravity and orbital motions, there is no force (real or made-up) that can keep a local Sun hanging above the flat pizza world, nor speed it up by 70% at the southern solstice, reverse its motion there and then slow it down by 40% by six months later at the northern solstice. The flattards aren't in this debate to win, to make life better for society, or to make new discoveries (or maps) on flattardia..... no, they are in it to feel special and to do so without lifting a hand or thinking critically. You should make a video like this showing how it's possible we always see the same stars in our night sky as we orbit the Sun year after year. Imagine the sun being the size of a tennis ball floating in the very center of a large room. Then imagine a marble orbiting around it as Earth supposedly orbits the Sun. If we were tiny and standing on the surface of the marble would we not look up at night to see a different wall every hundred eighty degrees of the circular orbit around the tennis ball? Each 180° we would view the wall on the opposite side of the room yet on the Earth we always observe the same stars year round. how can this be?
@quinlan19772 жыл бұрын
We don't observe the same stars all year. The Orion constellation is a good example. The only stars that vary throughout the year are the ones near the Zodiac.
@viniciuss45292 жыл бұрын
Using your example, if the Sun is the size a tennis ball, the Universe is a lot larger than a room, and the other stars would never be as close as the walls in that room are. Besides, we don't see always the same stars, those in the North see some, those in the South see others. And the ones we see, rotate and move their relative positions in the sky exactly as you would suspect it should happen after a 180º, as you call it.
