Sounds like Princess wanted to reinvent the wheel on this ship and dropped the ball with it. Need the extended warrantee. I also heard something about the atrium floor that everyone was tripping over?

They definitely tried to do too much. Yes, I think the Piazza had a small level change and the corridor leading to Princess Live tripped up me and a couple other guests. 👣

Could that raised floor been a major design flaw that couldn't be changed? It was definitely weird to have it a an inch higher. No one could have possibly designed it that way, could they? In wife stumbled just walking past but didn't fall.

I was on Sun a week or so after you and I think they fixed many of the signage and medallion issues you encountered. I can also say the service and crew were excellent, as were most of the specialty restaurants I dined in. Also liked the Sanctuary upgrade as well. I’m 100% in agreement with you on the weird ship design and layout, dead ends,the Sphere? and the lacking International Cafe selection. I don’t think Sun makes a great flag ship and pretty much feel “meh” as well. I really wanted to love it. I’m sticking to the Royal and Grand class ships (and Virgin.)

Dysfunctional is the only word that can describe the Sun Princess. We did it once & will never return after almost 100 cruises. There were just to many negatives for us, including the crowds at every turn which we've never seen in those numbers on any other Princess ship.

Lol completely opposite of my thoughts about Sun Princess, I have sailed on every major cruise line and after 40 plus years of cruising they are all substandard to PrincessCruises especially the newer ships like Carnival Celebration, BTB Sun Princess in February then Transatlantic Star Princess!!!

I'll give a Royal class a try, but my experience on Caribbean Princess was far better than Sun Princess. And I would hands down choose Margaritaville Islander over Sun Princess too. 🏝️

Completely disagree. Sailed on Thanksgiving cruise and loved the ship, staff, cabins, food all over the ship. I was very worried about seeing the shows but arrived each night at 9 for the 930 show and no problems with seats.......so much for listening to negative reviews like yours. Was also very worried about the eatery and again never had a problem with finding a seat or long lines . Whenthere was a line it moved extremely fast and food was really great for a buffet. Mdr was also great. I am booked on back to backs for the Star for Thanksgiving 2026. Have cruised about 15 times on various lines and found the Sun as good or better than most.
