Hi, I watched this video on tv and had to go to my phone to leave a comment, first thank you for sharing your review, people need to see a know that this happens, I really hope Princess sees this and make some very necessary changes, poor customer service is never acceptable, I have cruised on Princess before, I was in my late forties, I am african american and after a few hours I knew I wasn't going to like this, but I was on a cruise and made the best of it, I am now in my mid fifties and thought about trying Princess again, the ship looks beautiful but after watching this I will have to give it more thought, if I am spending my Hard Hard earned money, I want a good experience. I have been watching your videos since you started your channel, I love your videos and look forward to seeing more, Happy Hoildays. PS , that comedian was hilarious 😂😂😂

Great vlog! I truly appreciate the blunt honesty, no sugar coating, just telling the truth/facts of what transpired during your cruise. Sorry you were not able to fully enjoy the first time experience cruising on that new beautiful ship, that really sucks ("free" or not doesn't matter). When you said that you took it upon yourself to go around to other cabins, knocking on other cruisers cabin doors and asking them to check the chair on their balcony, that surprised me 🤯 But then again, I didn't have to live with that noise, so no judgement here. I often overlook instances of poor service when I cruise and just deal with the things that might somewhat bother or annoy me, and that's something I need to get better at -- advocating for proper service during my cruise -- and not always letting things go and saying nothing about it to guest services.

Thanks for sharing that comment! 🏆 Most minor things, I overlook. 5 of my 6 siblings were/are extroverts & I learned early that "squeaky wheels get the grease" and later that "you teach people how to treat you" so nowadays, if the issue is big enough, I speak up. You are correct...I feel like I missed out on enjoying a very beautiful ship and experience by allowing other people's issues to ruin my cruise. For that, I regret, but I'm glad it was only a week and I have lots of new adventures to look forward to on upcoming cruises. Thanks for watching and I appreciate the comments. 🤗☀️🛳

I really loved your video. It was so helpful and informative. We are frequent cruisers and had considered the Sun. I love that you went door to door to fix the noise problem! It is so frustrating that customer service didn't help you more. We just cruised on a Princess for the first time and noticed that they just weren't as friendly as other cruise lines.

I just wanted to thank you for your honesty. You are part of the reason why I watch Black/African American KZbin channels, for your honesty when it comes to cruising. I, too, had a similar experience on a Princess Ship, the Majestic Princess. I swore that I would never cruise with them again. I was cruising then with my daughter. I came home and told my husband about our experience. He then booked another. We went on the Discovery Princess and loved it. I have been several times. My husband speaks five different languages, so maybe that helped. Try a different ship and see if your experience changes. Thank you for being yourself.

Now I will pause and likely patronize another cruise line due to CS issues you mentioned with Eastern European staff and because of attitudes you encountered among some cruise guests. Women of color have choices when we travel. Keeping each other informed is key!

Millions of people, including black & brown folks, LOVE this cruise line and their experiences are/were different than mine. But yeah, they blew it with me. I'm sorry to hear about your experience. We sailed Sun Princess in Europe last summer and loved it. After 75 cruises the ship's vibe will determine how much you like or dislike a sailing. The crew and passengers determine that vibe. I would try it again on one of the Royal Class ships. I really like the Piazza on the Royal class plus I had the same thought about Good Spirit's on this ship, it's hidden in a hole but on the other ship's it's a lively bar on the Piazza. I was on the Sun Princess on Jan 5th, 2025 sailing. It's was my first sailing with them, I had more than 70 cruises in the past. I had a Signature Vista suite on deck 17. It's was my most favorite cruise, I did not want to leave at the end of the cruise. The cabin is very modern, food are very good, sanctuary club is amazing, great services. The casino on the Sun is beautiful and very modern look. They only have a few LionLink slot machines, no Dragon Link, Fire Link, Lighting Link, Lock it Link, Dollar Storm type of games there. Looking forward to go on the Star Princess next.

I cruised Princess initially because of their itineraries and great on board programs. We are Elite with Princess and Celebrity. I would give Celebrity the edge only because as a BW traveling with my husband, I find some passengers on Princess to be slightly less "friendly." The one or two customer service issues that I've had on Princess were death with appropriately and swiftly. That may have been due to booking suites early on and now our Captain's Circle level. Either way, I'm going to enjoy my cruises.

I love the different foods on this ship, as well as, all the dance lessons offered!!! I’m not sure, but I think I may like this ship but customer service and people thinking they’re “privileged” , I can’t deal with; I can look over a lot, but….that along can be a dealbreaker for me! That tour guide fellow, Vaughn, he’s a fashionista, did you notice his outfit? Oh, one more thing, I was stationed in Europe for three years and there was plenty of times I would be shopping in local stores and we, Americans was overlooked, locals would step in front of us and get served while we was in lines. Not all the Europeans, but most, or put your change on the counter instead of your hands. Not sure if raised that way, but they can be trained to do better if being placed in customer service of mostly Americans! Thanks for sharing, see you in the next video!!! I think it depends on what time of year you go, but there is definitely an older crowd on Princess compared to Carnival. My first cruise with Princess was a transatlantic and I was shocked how early everyone went to bed and how quiet it was. I felt like one of the youngest and I am 66!! But I just went on Enchanted in October, a New England/Canada cruise and it was a very different and lively crowd. We had a blast! I have a B2B scheduled in about a month on Sun Princess, so it will be interesting as I am solo again.

I’m so sorry you had a free Princess cruise you didn’t enjoy. My husband and I are avid cruisers. We have sailed on most of the different cruise lines. I have learned through the years to dial down my expectations. You are dealing with a lot of different personalities and overworked staff, to be sure. Yes it is disappointing when you feel like you aren’t getting the response you would expect. We tend to sail on Princess because the ships are beautiful and for the most part, the staff is friendly and accommodating. We recently sailed on Regal Princess. There were some things I didn’t enjoy and I made SURE to let them know on the survey they email to you afterwards. I also put down what I liked and gave a shout out to specific people that were exceptional. I wish you well and happy cruising! ❤

But I'm not gonna re-experience a bad experience. That's just lunacy! 🫤 I will not be sailing on Sun Princess however I am making plans to possibly sail on a DIFFERENT Princess ship as some have suggested. Hi Lynelle! It seems the cruise industry is forgetting about customer service and how important it is in the overall experience of their guests. I just got back from a Viking Rhine River Christmas Market cruise. This was the trip of a lifetime for me and my son and although we enjoyed it overall, I was incredibly disappointed in the service of most of the employees. No smiles, no greetings, no making me feel like they were happy for my business. We had to flag down waiters to bring us menus, order drinks, etc. I expected 5-star treatment for the price we paid and it was 3 star at best.

The comedian saying black guests smuggled liquor in shampoo bottles and referring that we won’t rob you is in very poor taste especially in a crowd lacking diversity. IMO these jokes fuel the fire. Perhaps, the Executives at Princess Cruises Lines (PCL), will view your video for training purposes and retrain their staff on the value of Customer Service, especially with being a NEW ship. I couldn't imagine being a newbie on PCL and feeling lost. 😕 😔 🙃 The Cupid Shuffle and the Wobble are my 💃🏽 💃🏽 💃🏽 💃🏽, along with the other dance classes!!! It's a nice necklace token. I love the "NO Charge" for the laundry services. I guess it was a llllloooonnnnggggg 7 day cruise. N E way, this was my first time hearing about a Bible Study also, which is good. I like the Español class also. I DON'T know WHAT our team is doing. 😠 I'm BIG on Customer Service and it would have been a HUGE issue for me with the noise, room changes, room cleanliness, etc. 😠 😡 🥳 🎉 🎈 🎊 🚢 ⚓️ 🛳

Great review! I'm a foodie- hence my faves are Virgin Voyages and Celebrity. Poor customer service is a no for me and the clear lack of DEI with respect to marketing their product is also a no for me. There were very few POC on Celebrity but I felt welcome because the staff and other sailors were amazing. I do like the later breakfast on Princess because I don't get up early on vacation. I also like the free laundry, great food and spa.

Use oxy white revive, it comes in tablet form, and will keep your whites snowy white. Try it on your white top before you toss it, you'll be surprised! I use them on my husbands t-shirts and the older ones are just as white as the newer ones

I was loyal to Princess for decades, but after my last cruise earlier this year, I won’t book with them again. Customer service was awful. I don’t understand what has happened but it was bad. Guest services was pretty nice because when you are Elite status they pull you to the front of the line, but the problem didn’t get resolved. We were told by the room steward that they had bed bugs two doors down from our cabin. It just did not get better for the 11 days we were onboard. No more Princess for me.

Thanks for sharing. I was offered a Princess comped casino cruise and never picked one out. Not sure I’d even try now hearing your experience on the newest ship. I would also say that non friendly crew would be a turn off to me. I am D+ on Royal and it is sometimes a let down when I can’t get the same loyalty perks (even on sister ship Celebrity). At least you got to experience it. I tried Virgin on a match comped and it was a one and done for me on that line (for so many reasons, but CS was awesome). Happy Holidays and New Year.

Princess actually has priced out less than Royal and Carnival for a family of 4 with the Princess plus package and the added gratuities for the other 2 people for an inside cabin for the same sailing of the eastern Caribbean cruise at the same time of year for a 7-night sailing. Royal has become very expensive as they must pay for all the bells and whistles. We actually choose to sail princess because it is not a carnival with a party atmosphere and loud music.

I’m so sorry you didn’t enjoy everything about your trip. I am platinum with princess and I’d have to say every ship is different with that being said sun princess is a new ship and I heard a lot different then their royal class ships . I think you should give the other ships a chance before you decide not to cruise with princess ever again. I would definitely recommend Sky princess, enchanted princess , regal and I’m going in sun for the first time in March 2025. I hope and wish you great trips in the future

If they aren't friendly and helpful I wouldn't cruise with them. I did a cruise on Norwegian and the staff was friendly, but every time I asked a question, they always gave me the wrong answer. None of the staff was able to give me a single correct answer it was pathetic. I stopped asking for help and figured everything out 9n my own. So sad

Princess Cruises is mostly 50+. Fewer younger fighting drunk people, people acting crazy or getting into fights, and a lot fewer children. Holland America is mostly 65+ and especially the longer cruises because those are mostly retired. There will be a few younger people, but mostly guests will be older.

😆🤗So I hear. I have been cruising on RC & CCL since 2001. This year, I did 15 cruises on RC & 11 on CCL. NEVER have I seen ANY of that. I know it happens...I see the YT vids. I heard that Princess was supposedly a "better" crowd and that HAL is old people. In MY personal experience so far, ALL OF THAT has been WRONG!!! 🤗💗🚢

@@PovertyToParadise Princess is usually "moneyed" older people which means you don't have to worry about anything you have when you lay it down somewhere. (I've been on CCL and asked a barboy on the Lido deck and asked him if I could make a ladies room run and leave my stuff on my chair; his response - "not with these people. I've been on 10 CCL). I've been on a 4-day HAL when they had a new ship and it was fun and there were lots of old people there, but some young ones too since it was only a 4-day cruise. But the bartenders on HAL told my friend that usually by 9:00 p.m. everyone is in their cabins getting ready to go to sleep; but this is on the LONG cruises 30 to 180 days for HAL.

Oh too bad about the customer service on Sun Princess! I had heard its design is not conducive to intuitive ship exploring. I like the smaller older ships. I didn’t have any problems on the Crown when we went to Alaska from SF. Princess does have issues with the fact that there is not enough room in the Dome or Theatre for everyone to attend on the Sun specifically! Therefore the folks who always show up early to get a seat WILL probably be the older, or Premiere Package folk or Princess Elite Level of the Captain’s Club. There have been lots of ship tours about the Sun on You Tube so for more info I recommend folks to watch there. The Sun doesn’t appeal to me personally, I like smaller Princess ships where you can connect with the crew on a more personal level. You are probably right about the European crew cultural differences (I have heard You Tubers mention that on purely European cruise ships as well. ) I’m just hoping that this newer design that will also be on the new Star Princess will be improved! ❤

Oh, that's an interesting perspective. I actually like the design of the ship [except the limited seating] and felt each area was separate and didn't run over into each other. FYI, Princess cruises in general are geared for the older cruisers, that is their niche. Many of their cruises are 10 to 30 days, No major attractions About 2,500 to 3,000 cruisers Reasonably priced, many itineraries are about $100 to $150 a day pp, some even cheaper. Many Princess cruisers, cruise about a month a year. 2 examples of our future cruises 1. 16 days, Los Angeles to 4 days visiting the Hawaiian Islands, and a day in Ensenada, back to LA. Oceanview, middle of the ship $1,700 pp 2. 7 days, Los Angeles to Mexican Riviera to LA. Balcony, mid ship, $700. Discovery Princess, the second newest Princess ship. After seeing about 10 different You Tubers showing off the Sun Princess, this is a ship we would never cruise on.
