This is a great bread machine, we had one we used so much that the coating of the pan was wearing off, I contacted Sunbeam to order a new pan (the machine was still good), they responded and said a new pan was not available, instead the sent me a whole new machine for free. That is how a company should be.

The reason why the yeast isn't supposed to touch the liquid when using a bread machine is because coming in contact with the liquid will cause it to activate, and you don't want it to activate before the machine is ready to mix. It honestly doesn't matter much if your going to make the bread right away. It's really only an issue when using the delay timer, since you don't want the bread to overferment.

Tip: after it does the last "punch down" or "knead" you can take the dough out and take the paddle out so you don't have to fish it out after it bakes :) (DON'T remove the dough after the final rise or it will deflate again).

I just use my Sunbeam bread machine to do the kneading and first rise (#8, dough setting). Then I take it out, pan it, let rise again and cook it in the oven. You get more bread and it is lighter. I can't knead bread anymore because of arthritis so the bread maker is great. I also use my own bread recipe (get 3 good size loaves) I would never part with my bread maker and if it breaks, I will certainly be getting another one.

The yeast is a live organism and in dry form, like you use in breadmakers, it is dormant and when it comes into contact with liquid it activates it and begins working, in other words begins to give off the gasses that cause the bread to rise. If it comes into contact with the water too early, for instance if you’re using the timer or the wholemeal setting and the ingredients are sat there for a long period of time, if the yeast is activated too early, it will loose its effectiveness or die when the machine is ready to begin making the bread and your loaf either won’t rise at all or it won’t rise to its full potential. Hope this helps.

I follow the instructions on the jar of yeast and proof my yeast first, that means adding it to water and waiting until it foams, then add it to the recipe. I could never understand why the bread machine instructions say to add the dry yeast last, kinda defeats the purpose of a fast rising dough.
@rgruenhaus Жыл бұрын
@HobbyHillsVideos instant active dry yeast don't require proofing! Proofing is for non instant yeast.

The salt will kill the yeast is why you put it in the indention of flour.
@dorinachan1134 жыл бұрын
Yes that's so true, I would not use salt but I'm a salt free diet and sugar is what it needs, plus I think the heat would kill the yeast too hot it wouldn't rise too cold you won't have a high rise.

Just saw your video a few minutes ago. I noticed that you did not use dry milk powder called for in the recipe, but you used regular milk. This is probably the reason your bread slightly collapsed on the top. I have a Regal bread machine from the 1990's and it still makes wonderful bread.
@Danroxye014 жыл бұрын
Because it is a programmable machine with delay option. the yeast has to remain dry on top of the flour. I have used a black&decker bread machine for decades now , I have just purchased this new model. I dont expect to remain with the receipe coming with this new machine, I think it uses twice as much yeast as my older machine. so I'll eventually modify the receipe to my like.

Bread needs to cool of completely before slicing. Please use serrated knife to slice bread. Remove the paddle before the final baking step, if not on delay baking mode.
@CartoonicusАй бұрын
I’ve set the timer delay and hit the start button but nothing is happening. Does it wait the whole time before kneading? I thought it would knead right away and then let it rise over night.
@kekort23 жыл бұрын
The reason you don't want the yeast to touch the liquid is that yeast will basically come alive when it reacts with liquid and begin working. It doesn't really matter if you're going to make the bread right away, but if you want to set the timer so that you will have fresh hot bread in the morning, you need to keep it from touching the water.

Hi I have not come across that problem and I have a couple friends we have the same bread machine they have not reported having a problem getting the bread out it’s possible that it could be user error or it could be the machine But I do have a friend who recently ran across a problem with the drive belt Breaking and kneading blade No longer Will spin On sunbeam machine

@nigelholmes93324 жыл бұрын
@@casualmike8395 flours aint flours. . . cake flour - bread flour - strong bread flour. One difference is the protein content. Flour from soft wheat has less protein (6-9%) & is good for pastry & cake. Hard wheat has more protein (10-15%) which leads to more gluten and is better for breads. The more protein the stickier the dough. Whole grain flour has more protein and more fats so doesn't keep as well (fats will oxidise & taste nasty).
