I'd be interested in a "power" version with hotspot and better podcast /music support. This phone is appealing to me because here in Canada our providers stock very few dumbphones.

I decided to get this phone even though it was a bit pricey for me.. .mostly based on this review and also the Sunbeam website itself which I found very classy. When I got the phone besides it being classy and well thought out, I REALLY like that I can hear phone calls much better than my 3G flip phone. This is important because I am quite hearing impaired. I can also hear the phone when it rings! I do wish the battery lasted as long as my old flip phone. Compared with my friends new cheaper flip phones, this one shows higher quality.

With the Dandelion, what does making a call look like? My relative (age 94) struggles to follow multiple steps to call--his 3g phone only requires him to scroll down with an arrow, then hit the green phone key. His carrier sent him a replacement 4g phone where he had to scroll with a tiny ridge on the center circle, then hit "ok" 3 or 4 times. It was too much. He needs it to be the fewest steps possible. I have the F1 Orchid. I love the features, but the hardware is cracked and chipped after only 6 months. When I contacted customer service about it (including pictures), their response was: You can send us another $200 and we'll send you a new phone. You can then send us your old, broken phone and if we think that you're not responsible for the damage, we'll refund the $200. This is their "warranty"... not exactly designed to protect the consumer. Essentially, you'd end up just buying another phone from them. If this company won't stand by their product for more than 6 months, they don't deserve your business. They certainly lost mine. I will keep this phone going (duct tape?) as long as possible, but then I'll be buying something from another company. Stay away from Sunbeam wireless.
@davidbernier5782 Жыл бұрын
I bought the Sunbeam Orchid last year after finding your (amazing) channel. After some time, it broke--the plastic it's made of is brittle, and if you drop it every now and then (and who *never* drops a phone?), the hinge connecting the keypad part of the phone to the screen part will break. So, I bought a new one--and after seven months, *it* just broke in the same exact place. I feel frustrated because I love the phone's features--group messages, emojis, voice-to-text, and a lack of internet. But I used flip phones for years that were MUCH stronger than this one. Unfortunately, I don't want to buy a third one, because it'll probably just break again within a handful of months. Unless you *never* drop it, I do not recommend this phone. EDIT: I just looked at their website, and they now sell both screen protectors and hard-shell covers for their phones. However, the hard-shell covers cover everything *except* for the hinge, which is already the phone's weakness. I didn't have either items on either of my Sunbeam phones. I believe these products were not on the market when I bought my previous two Sunbeam phones, but I may be remembering incorrectly.

Jose - Will this phone still work on AT & T towers (Red Pocket Mobile) in North America in February of 2022? I'm not seeing it on the AT & T list, so assuming it will not? If not, what basic phones would even work with Red Pocket in 2022? Thanks!

Yes. This will work after February 2022 :)

Android technology… hmmmm. I would be hard pressed to accept this company’s privacy policy since they can’t control any of the app developers privacy policies. Android configuration control and compatibility with hardware devices (and their operating systems) is my biggest concern with these dumb devices - and the smaller the company - and the smaller the user base - the higher probability these users will become ignored by developers. I hope I’m wrong because I’d love to go back in that direction. For now I have an old iPhone SE that I can just strip down to run with bare bones apps.. weather, text, camera, etc.

Sunbeam has a great track record so far with their updates and privacy implementation :)

You Let me thinking about Chinese dumb phone as M7 AGM , about privacy of data.

I have an agm m7 and a sunbeam orchid, both on pure talk network (att). My wife's phone is the sunbeam, was working fine then one day it didn't get signal, any idea on how to trouble shoot if the problem is phone or simcard?

I had to turn the 2G off for the voice to text to work on one phone. The voice mail feature is something I don't use much and one time I disabled that too to solve a recognition problem with a land line phone that blocked the cellular with a service that I use. Could have been a glitch there maybe.

Sunbeam F1 is $195. Voice to text ability requires a monthly subscription.

Hey Jose! very helpful as always. I was wondering if there's any way to get any of the F1s in Europe yet. Thanks!

I see no info on the site on whether this phone can be considered de-googled, although I am assuming that is one of their priorities?
@JoseBriones3 жыл бұрын
It is degoogled :) AOSP, so not a hardened OS version like Graphene or Calyx

Thank you for the reviews. I recently saw another video about the Sunbeam but it didn't describe the different models. I think the Daisy might be perfect for my older sister who only wants to make calls, take photos and text. She needs something simple to use.

Its 2022 & Im looking to swap out my nokia 800 tough to remain degoogled (as google just invested millions into KaiOS, bad sign!) & this looks great but as soon as this phone appeared in Australia (where I am) it disappears too. Shame.

About the visual voicemail. I purchased this voice partially for the visual voicemail. It is said to work with Verizon and T-mobile. I have US Mobile (which uses T-mobile or Verizon towers) so I thought it would work. Unfortunately visual voicemail does not work with US Mobile.

Going to have to add a negative comment amongst all these positive ones. They sent me a phone that doesn't work and they are charging me $30 to refund it. And when I say it doesn't work, it won't turn on with a sim inserted. As well as making me pay for the shipping. Ridiculous anti-consumer behavior. They made no attempt to troubleshoot and just said I could return it or refund. Buyer beware.

Thanks for responding to my inquiry regarding a voice to text feature.Looks like the Daisy or the Orchid are in the right price range and I'll probably get one or the other, base on your recommendations. Thanks.

Hi Jose. I’m thinking about adding another line to my Verizon plan. I have the new iPhone 14 Pro but I want a basic phone for my second line. I was thinking about the Kyocera Dura XV Extreme or the Sunbeam F1. Which one would you recommend? Thank you in advance.
