Time stamp 2:40 😂 I can't hahaha....thank you. That made me laugh and I'm likely going to feel the same way with this dang GE toaster 139T81 that I'm trying to repair. Thanks for the laugh.

Awesome. I never would have thought of doing that! Never seen one that needed it.

I have one of these vintage toasters and I love it. Recently we had a horrible storm and I think my toaster suffered a power surge and now only works at about 50% - maybe - Can this be repaired?

Thanks for the video. Did you verify that your thermostat blade snaps to both the on position (away from the thermostat bracket thus closing the contacts) and the off position (against the bracket thus opening the contacts)? I have an older T20 and my blade doesn't snap leaving me to assume that it's failed, but I'd to know IF you actually snapped it into its on and off states. Thanks in advance.

I have a Sunbeam T20 and the thermal switch quit working. I simply plug it in and it automatically drops the bread down inside. I look down inside the top to see how brown the bread is and unplug it but I would like to get it to work automatically again. I wish you would have been more specific by pointing at the corrosion because I can't tell what you're talking about. But thanks anyway.

Mine doesn't turn on at all anymore. I got it used in the box at an antique store in mint condition for $18, mfg date 1994. It worked great for 2 months, now nothing, no power when you drop the toast in. Now I'm back to the old pop-up.

You can easily fix it.

Could show how to fix a toaster that won’t drop the toast at all!? Thanks
@EricBaker-rg9yp3 ай бұрын
Technology connections did a video on how the tension in the toast-dropping mechanism can cause your toaster to not turn on. I’d look into that first

my sunbeam toast very unevenly do you think you might know what would be the issue?
@Benivator2 Жыл бұрын
It's an unfortunate feature of the design. The center heating element is just stronger than the sides. The best you can do is have one side slightly burned and one side slightly underdone.
@xreel1591 Жыл бұрын
@@Benivator2 yeah i just wonder cause yours looks much better than mine i mean the middle is burned while the outer side is barely toasted this only happens in the side with the switch the other side is not as bad
@martin80741 Жыл бұрын
Maybe try bending the guides to adjust the slice's position between sides?
@xreel1591 Жыл бұрын
@@martin80741 i tried it works a little but not much
@ToasterPhreak10 ай бұрын
@@xreel1591 Might possibly be because the inner and outer elements are so different in surface area (I think). Every time the element heats up a few molecules vaporize, causing the element to change in resistance slightly over time. Seems a bit "out there", but they all toasted evenly when they left the factory, and the way they're built you can pretty much depend on the bread being in the same position it always was in.
