I bet you would be pretty pissed if Brittney Spears covered it as her own though. What The Vines are doing to real alternative bands is basically the same. Again - this is the Vines doing Stereophonics. Their "Ride" (or whatever) is them doing The Pixies "River Euphrates" and some unidentified Nirvana tune. "Get Free" reeks of Nirvana. Etc, etc, etc...

They bring nothing new to the table, all they have to offer is a singer that copies Kurt down to the last scream and grind, looks "cute" and steals material and hooks from other bands. They're basically the "cute" Carlos Mencias of alternative music. A dumbening down of Nirvana's and the Pixies legacy to be a smoother, cleaner corporate option for the Avril Lavigne generation. If you're above 15, listening to The Vines and NOT a pop loving girl... then there's something wrong with you...
