After watching this video, it confirms most of the research I have done over the last 6 months. It seems Sundance really is all hype and marketing of average to low-quality hot tubs made in Mexico.

I thought Sundance hand rolled their fiberglass. Is that not the case or is this outdated?

Hi Colin Thanks for your question. Here is how Sundance describes there patented Rigid Bond system. I will have to double check to see if they change how its applied. Our exclusive 3-layer Rigid Bond construction process adds durability, high performance, and superior heat retention capabilities to all of our hot tub shells. Rigid Bond is the only process that layers the acrylic surface material with three components: vinylester, polyester resins and a proprietary laminate. Without getting too technical, the vinylester resin provides lasting adhesion with the acrylic layer. The polyester resins are created from a proprietary blend that makes a Sundance hot tub shell eight times stronger than ordinary fiberglass-laminated shells. Rigid Bond construction is the reason why your hot tub shell performs so well through years of use and exposure. The acrylic layer that you see is built to last, retaining its color and sheen with very little maintenance. Energy efficiency is built into our hot tub shell construction, too. Two types of foam are used to provide full-foam insulation. It completely fills the compartment between the shell and the skirt, helping to maintain water temperatures longer. High-density, heat-resistant foam surrounds the equipment bay; lighter foam insulates elsewhere for an energy efficient hot tub. The pairing of Rigid Bond and insulation conserves energy and helps you save money on heating costs. When you're comparing the value of hot tub brands, it pays to look at the way a spa shell is put together. This plant is in Mexico. Buy a California-made Jacuzzi or Hotspring tub! The words in the factory are all in Spanish

Hi Ryan The Sundance factory is the most state of art in the industry and the staff working in the factory are the most highly skilled and hardest working group of people I have ever seen. Not sure what it being in Mexico has to do with anything, but just so you know, the Hot Storings factory is in Mexico as well. Hotspot, the cheaper hot springs line,is made in Mexico. Hot springs has the main plant in San Diego. Jacuzzi also has a plant in Chino California. Which models are made there? Nothing against the Mexicans, I just want to buy American.

Yeah, but they recently moved production to Mexico. I don’t like to support greed. Numerous other spa manufacturers are still in the US.

Wood frames and not using robotics. Is a very old process. I will say this about your spouse they definitely stay warm here in sunny Southern California

Hi Bill. Thanks for your input. The lumbar Sundance uses is the best product in the industry. We are still servicing Sundance Spas we sold in the mid 1990's that were built with these wood frames and the structure and the tubs are in incredible shape. @@djghiz if it's the same lumber jacuzzi uses then I've seen videos of rotted wood. That being said is it should incorporate that into the manufacturing process and pass the added cost to the customer

@@automech01 Thanks. Just FYI, I have been selling the Sundance /Jacuzzi product since 1992 and have been one of their top dealers in the world for many years. We are still servicing tubs we delivered in the 90's and we have never seen a frame rotted. Anyone can create videos that can be very misleading as you never know what condition or installation the hot tub was in. For all we know, the spa could have been sitting under water.

They used to be really great, then private equity bought them and other spas and now they make them all the cheapest way possible like the cheapest brand they bought, then they put the Sundance and other brand names they own like Jacuzzi on it and charge more than anyone else, just looked at a brand new one, it's garbage, there's no mechanical compartment anymore, snap on panels that won't seal out mice and vermin anymore, no real insulation, styrofoam panels in between the metal frame, and no solid base to keep out mice and vermin, very sad what private equity firms have done to everything they bought on this entire planet.

Hi Aaron Thanks for your note. I have been selling Sundance Spas since the early 90's and I have delivered tens of thousands to customers all over the Phoenix area. We have never once had a single issue with a frame. I am still servicing Sundance Spas my company delivered in the mid 1990's. You should stop by to take a look sometime Thanks again
