Hi Fr. Dave. Thanks for praying for all those w/ cancer. Our Dad Mike needs these prayers, as do we. Pray for all the youth who have to endure those false teachings. We were taught the truth at home. we even had "The Emperor Has No Clothes" as a storybook. But at school/ college and elsewhere, we've encountered every false teaching in the book. Only by the grace of God did we survive spiritually. The Lord looks out for us. Thanks for being one of the voices of truth.

I think why you resonate with so many of us Father Dave, is that you apply Jesus's teachings to what is currently happening in the world...I really haven't heard other priests do this in all my years attending mass...I would always wonder why priests wouldn't address certain things, but you do!...Not only do you address what us happening, you do it so eloquently, without offending....just the truth, which needs to be said (and heard!)...Thank you Father Dave, Diane and Jess, for continually offering your gifts to all of us. God bless!

Thank you father Dave. My mom, Pat, died this past Wednesday and we bury her this Friday. Your masses had been what my parents had been watching these last few months since my dad struggles to get around. My dad and I were able to play this mass for her as our final Sunday Mass together. Her passing was unexpected but she hung around a bit and during that time my siblings, dad, and I have experienced moments that can only be described as God given. Thank you for your masses. They’ve been well enjoyed by my parents and I and mean a lot. God bless you.

You are so right about the world being a muddy place. I have struggled with with forgiveness in the past, and sometimes the present too, but I have moved past that with the help of the Holy Spirit. Thank you for for continuing this on-line ministry even though many of us have returned to Mass. I am grateful to listen to your homily each week. I also look forward to your corny jokes. Yes I did get today's joke right away. You have helped me to grow spiritually and be open to the Holy Spirit! Prayers for you, Jess, and Diane, and a belly rub for Cragly!

Yet another Fr. Dave'ism I've picked up after 3+yrs of following him-when saying The Lord's Prayer in church I find myself also raising my eyes up to our Heavenly Father, just like I've noticed Fr. D. does during every online sermon. It seems to make Jesus' words even more powerful and interactive. Keep on preachin' & teachin' us, Padre.

Another wonderful mass, Fr. I agree that the world is a horribly muddy place, but hopefully with God's help, we and the world can become better and happier. Also, if you could, pray for my grandmother, who is dealing with healing from a cat bite (as well as going through chemo) and also myself as I am trying to find a new job that is fitting with my communications degree and have been searching for about a year. I have yet to find one despite working hard. I really want to use my talents in a way God wants me to. Thanks and God blees.

Dear Father Dave, I need your advice, please. I listen to you every week. You have in many ways restored my faith in God. I simply love how you explain aspects of the Catholic faith in a way that I (and apparently many others) can easily understand and relate to❣ In your homily a few weeks ago (April 30th), you mentioned the importance of keeping the sacriments. Jesus as our shepherd welcomes all who want to be part of the flock. And we demonstate our desire to be in the flock by keeping the sacriments. Yet I am told that I am no longer welcome to receive one sacriment per the rules of the Church. I am a divorced Catholic. I was married in the Catholic church. I have since remarried (civil, not in church). I understand I am not allowed to receive the sacriment of Holy Communion anymore. I long to once again be welcome to receive Holy Communion instead of receiving a priest's blessing at Mass. Is there anything I can do, aside from attempting to get my 1st marriage annulled, to be welcomed by God to receive Holy Communion again? It's very sad, especially at Easter and Christmas, to not be allowed to receive the body and blood of Christ. Thank you in advance for your advice and God's blessings to you, Diane, Jess, and Cragley.✝
@debbieh8013
@debbieh8013 Жыл бұрын
I wanted to say that it is not hard to get your marriage annulled; 2 things - the marriage was invalid from the start due to any number of issues: addiction, infidelity, etc. and the second, you need to be willing to jump through a series of hoops including a lot of paperwork and meeting with a lawyer from the Catholic tribunal. Your exspouse will be notified and is given a chance to share as well. With me, my spouse did not respond to the notifications. It took about 1 year. It was worth it because I was able to marry my 2nd husband in the Catholic church. If it means a lot to you to receive communion again, maybe it is time to start the process
@heyholetsgo5100
@heyholetsgo5100 Жыл бұрын
@@debbieh8013 Hi, Debbie. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on this. I have explored the possibilities of annullment with the church. I was told that the reason to support the annullment (such as some of the ones you mentioned) needed to be present at the time of marriage; not things that came about later on. So, in the absence of those reasons, there does not appear to be grounds to support annullment. I am sure many Catholics must be affected by situations similar to this. I am hoping there is an alternative way back in to the sacriments that does not involve dealing with tribunals and lawyers. I pray that Father Dave replies to us since I thoroughly trust his understanding and interpretations of what the Bible teaches.

The blessed experience of my life is that although I have gotten very muddy, and followed misguided teachings, the teachings of the Christ that were deeply experienced in my childhood stayed alive throughout it all, and I am forgiven and those experiences brought me back to see the Truth clearly through the Holy Spirits guidance. Thank you Father Dave, Dianne and Jess for sharing your time with me/us on line. I am ever so grateful to all of you. Today's Responsorial Psalm is in such a time of need to 'renew the face of the earth'. I do have a question with regard to the Gospel reading: "Receive the Holy Spirit Whose sins you forgive are forgiven them, and whose sin you retain are retained." The last part 'whose sin you retain are retained' - what is that exactly? Does that mean if they (the priest, the disciple) chooses not to forgive - the person won't be forgiven??? I just can't seem to understand that bit of the statement. Come Holy Spirit!

Thank you so much Fr Dave. I work shift and consequently often work Sundays. I tuned in to different masses around the world and stumbled on your mass about 2 months ago. Your homilies are wonderful. Such spot on teaching. All delivered with humour and enthusiasm. Today i read the comments for the 1st time. Nice to see one from Vancouver Island where one of my sons live; I've 3 sons and the 3 are in Canada. As most parents and a recent grandparent, i worry about their future and lack of faith, but i trust the Lord to look after them. Your homily today on false teachings and mud is so apt. God bless you and your team, Diane and Jess. As a dog owner, i love the way you include Cragly. Keep up the great work. From Ireland.

Hi Father Dave, please say a prayer for all of those who have been displaced by the wild fires in Alberta Canada. So many people have lost everything. Sure it's just material things but it's also their homes and the feeling of safety that they have lost. Please pray that Jesus will restore their faith in Him and in their fellow man by the wonderful donations of goods and open arms of the communities in which they have taken refuge! Please also bless all the firefighters who put their lives on the line for others.
