SUNDAY COOKING IN SAMOA | VAISŪ, FALAI POVI (BEEF STIRFRY) BBQ AND TARO | EPISODE 37 | SAMOANFARMER

Join us in another Sunday cooking episode here in Samoa from yours truly, Samoanfarmer. Today we are doing our usual normal umu TARO in the stove, BEEF stir fry with laupele, carrots, round cabbage and pasta, vaisū (sort of like BBQ fish reduced in coconut cream, BBQ (chicken nibbles and sausages and fried fish.

In 2017 I visited American Samoa for two months and lived in the fishing village of Amaluia. My host made vaisu for us. He used the fish known as "malau ugatele" caught at night on reef with "ofe Samoa " (20 foot long bamboo pole) with 20 foot line baited with hook and a white bird feather(fulu sina) from a "tava'e" (white tropic bird.) OH how I miss this!!!!

You can put you cooked stuff in the marinade you had raw chicken in there that's cross contamination

I dont know if you saw that the marinade was reduced on the heat and the meat was grilled on the bbq..so any bacteria would've all been dead by that time. Plus it went back onto the heat to simmer...soooo...yeah!
