We just had the same for Sunday lunch and I told my kids growing up, it must have callaloo, stew chicken, macaroni pie with the plantain and sweet potato on Sundays. They laughed at me but nothing beats the original Sunday lunch.

Growing up my mom will always use crab or chicken feet! I however only make it plain, comes out delicious! No disrespect but that was a lot of spinach, for so little coconut milk, the coconut milk gives it lots of flavor!

All the food looked delicious. Too bad you didn't get to cook the macaroni pie. It would have been the perfect addition to your Saturday/Sunday meal. The only thing is that I wouldn't have used half and half. Instead I use coconut milk, carnation milk and water, plus fresh thyme and a whole pepper. I, too, cook red beans in my stew. All in all, it was nice seeing you cook a full Sunday meal. Well done 😋🇹🇹🇨🇦

Lovely Sat/ Sun lunch. I make veg callaoo all the time. I do get dasheen bush in Canada, but at times I use the spinach as well. Food looks very delicious. Do enjoy with the family.🇨🇦💕

@ingridbee9192: How's it going? Fancy seeing you here too. I subscribed. I make veggie callalloo too. Sometimes I get dasheen bush at No Frills in Dufferin Mall, but very rarely. The owner is Jamaican so he brings in a lot of West Indian products. I have never tried the spinach though. Is it as good? Her cooking is really good, but I wouldn't have used the half and half. Too milky and creamy. I use coconut milk, carnation milk and water. I add fresh thyme and a whole pepper too. Anyway, I hope all is well. 🙏❤️

@@JudyT868 Hello Judy. Yes girl, im here too. I go to the west Indian store for bush when I want sonetimes. I made callaoo yesterday as well, with macaroni pie, baked chicken and curry goat. I never use the half and half before, just coconut milk and water. The spinach does taste good. Its a great option if the callaoo bush is not available. 💕💕😊
