Oh and I’ll say the quite part out loud, the low ball prices are coming from foreign drivers, they literally do any job at an undercut price from transport to building even car washes. It’s a disgrace that local businesses people are allowed to be run out of business by people willing to work for next to nothing.

Two years into driving artics, really wanting to push towards owner soon. Feel tho it would be more straightforward if I try driving a ridged to launch the company to save money and then build towards an artic.

Delivery app have it the right way they are just for vans though but they display the price and if you want it you take it and payment is made 7 days later simple . I have had one lorry job on there. So it is mainly for vans but it clearly works

The key is to know what the break-even is as a business once all costs are taken into account. Mine is around 1.7/mile so anything less is not worth accepting.

I could never do that as it tends to fall apart when trying to work out the maths . Its reliant on getting a certain amount of work in at a certain price so falls apart if you have to quote too much and cant get a job . The next job in cant or wont cover the shortfall so its not possible to say i demand xxx and nothing less . As a rule in a luton i would aim for £250 a day , it was a realistic amount and completely possible without doing 20 hour days . In a week that would leave around £600 profit once all costs were taken out and a little put to one side to buy another van at around the 1.10 a mile and mini 40-50 so a few years ago now ! . The £250 wasnt earned by just taking on any old crap going . It was by being very select .

Hi Pete, I got a ticket in a Red Route Loading bay in London that I was told to unload in by the Events company I was working for. The Traffic Warden watched me unload several 80kg flight cases at 08.30. The delivery took me 20mins. I went in to the venue to to get my POD signed came out and was handed a parking ticket for £160 ! I asked why and he said you can not unload in this bay untill 10am. I said you stood there watching me unload for 20mins why did you not tell me !! He said I don't need to it is written on the sign 50yds behind you. The Events company paid my fine as they told me to park there and all goods had to be in the venue by 09.30. I think the Traffic Warden was a Twat.
