I store my strawberries in a glass container filled with water making sure they’re all covered and that has kept my strawberries fresh for a month+ some, I found that if you don’t submerge them all in water, what’s not under the water will mold and ruin the entire batch.

Trying to get in this mindset. Have beeb trying to make room in my freezer, so check what I can use with ingredients I have in my fridge so there is less waste. At moment have 14 meals ready (only me) that just need re heating with maybe extra veg or salad.
@catherinephillips89253 ай бұрын
I also have a similar freezer , I take meat out of packaging and vacuum seal because it saves so much space , And try divide freezer things by type , I have seperate drawers for vegetable, fruit , meat , breads A miscellaneous, and a leftovers ready meals drawer I vacuum seal cheese in portions , cream cheese , butter and cream when they’re bought on special or clearance . It makes it so much easier .

The coles bags were changed to fit the crates the orders are packed in. They’re way more efficient for the pickers to shop with and you’re charged a flat rate of $1.50 per order, no matter how many bags you’re given, so ideally using a couple extra bags is a better option. The bigger bags didn’t fit in the crates so the top half of the bags couldn’t be filled when there was more than one in a crate anyway 😊

Are pantry staples and dairy products included in the "everything else"? I did not see those categories itemized. I have a family of 6 to feed. My husband's parents have visited for two weeks, so I've been feeding 8 people here for about $150 a week (USD). My location is unfortunately very remote, so I do not have access to all the affordable stores. I used to live a short drive from several ethnic markets, and food used to be far more affordable. I did not realize I was spoiled until those stores were nowhere near me anymore. Deep pantry and two chest freezers, as well as a half acre kitchen garden and chickens help quite a bit with reducing my reliance on the local, more pricey stores. I do a large Costco haul once every maybe 3 months.

Re: Coles bag size. I believe they changed the bag so they fit in the boxes they use to pack and sort them instore and on the trucks. if you're doing click and collect you can ask for no bags and pack everything in your own bags/boxes.

I get anxious reading through all the questions - you would have to leave your job to be able to respond to all and fulfill their video wish lists. Can’t people just listen to what you say in the video and get the answer that way… Anyway, what I came in to say is I love this video midweek. I always start thinking ahead to next weeks meal plan mid week when the Woolies catalogue is out so always looking for inspiration then. By Sunday I am all meal planned out 😛 Love your Sunday prep vids, thank you for sharing!

Im watching this, enjoying & appreciate all the effort, commitment, discipline, organization, and love for Ur family, careful planning. All the seasonings, oils & pastes have me thinking how great Ur meals must taste. I'm from The Caribbean, washing & seasoning meat (in particular) before cooking, is a must the cuisines of our islands are delicious. I remember U mentioned having a little one in nappies but noticed the seasonings with a bit of kick & the harissa paste. I know harissa is very spicy. Was wondering how baby's tummy handledms the spicy stuff if he (I think he) is still nursing. I dont have kids yet but I know my SiL had a big adjustment to make in how she prepared & cooked food so their kids' stomachs wouldnt be upset when they were nursing. This is my first time on your channel (at the start of this vid). Will be back soon. U All stay good😊😊😊.
