😮 you watch The Chosen?!?! I can not wait for season 5! I have laughed and cried and questioned and read my Bible more. 🙌 Such a wonderful wonderful series. I've re watched the first four seasons twice. Especially when I need reminders and help in the hard days. So glad to see you back on KZbin! ❤

I feel like a cat hiding in my box on your bed. 🐱😆 About slowing down. i find myself doing that in Korea. If I have to be two subway stations away, I will walk it instead of using the subway. It allows me to see more things, sometimes discovering or meeting people, helping some kid get his bike chain back on, etc. Slowing down is 굿

Question. Do you recommend someone to just drop everything (job and car) to move to South Korea on a 3 month tourist visa? I only have about $9,000 in savings I’m 33 and people tell me to just experience new things while I’m still “young”. I hate my job because it’s stressing me out. I’m also in college full time as well. I still live with my family which is also stressful. I’m just lost and not sure what to do right now about anything. I’m just not happy with where I’m at. Do you think it would be worth it? I graduate college next December and wanting to go anyway. Not having a job during that time is what’s keeping me from going which is why I didn’t know if my savings would help or not for a 3 month stay if I don’t go crazy with it like I did when I visited in April.

I did it at 30…but I came with only £1500 for 3 months (this doesn’t include accommodation, which was £400 per month) it was the most amazing experience. Just like you I lived with my parents. Now I’m 33 and I’m actually living in korea, have been for over a year ago. So, I recommend it yes. Only I didn’t have to give up my car, I had it to come home to. But now I live here I obviously gave it up.

@ oh wow. Where are you originally from? Europe? And I’d bring my car over but I’d be so terrified. Driving in another country is a whole new ballgame. lol plus with all the transportation, I don’t need it. We have no taxis or buses where I live. We do in the much bigger cities in the US but not many cities have that.
@CariW905 күн бұрын
@ how did you live comfortably for those 3 months if you didn’t bring much money? Did you stay in a hotel or apartment? I don’t think you can live in an apartment if you just have a tourist visa anyway

@@CariW90 I’m from England. I think bringing your car over would be too expensive just for 3 months. But I don’t know the process of all of that. Here they drive the other side of the road and car compared to England. I’ve been trying to take note and mentally drive incase I decide to rent a car for trip or something. Most of my friends who drive the same way said it’s not much different than driving back home. But yeah definitely don’t need it in the city I’m In. For the first year I felt like I needed a car for an easier life. The transportation in that city wasn’t great tbh. But this new city I’m in… I think it’s probably easier without a car 😂 I’ve been told it’s not too expensive to buy cars or rent cars here though. Again… not experienced in that.

Do you ever feel a general sense of claustrophobia living in Korea? Every corner is a CU, GS25, 7-Eleven mixed with mom and pop restaurants, a shoe cobbler, random knockoff clothing shops, an eMart, and then a department store like a Lotte, Shinsegae, or Hyundai? It's like copy and paste all throughout the country plus being enclosed under the shadows of towering apartment buildings and outside of that, it's mountains everywhere. Lived there for ten months during the pandemic and then coming back driving on an open California freeway was like the first breath of freedom. Don't get me wrong, loved it there but never could shake that sense of being physically and mentally controlled (cctv, red light cameras, speed cameras, etc).
