Known for his outstanding contributions to Caribbean arts, Dawad ventures into playwriting with this calypso musical masterpiece depicting a crucial moment in the life of the iconic Lord Blakie, a legendary figure in the world of calypso.
After a successful debut at the Naparima Bowl and the Little Carib Theatre earlier this year, this acclaimed production is set to captivate audiences once again with a special one-time performance. Mark your calendars for 6:30 PM on Sunday, September 1st, during the Independence Weekend, at Queen’s Hall, St Ann’s, Port of Spain.
The production features stellar performances by Kurtis Gross and Penelope Spencer, two of Trinidad and Tobago's theatre giants. Under the expert direction of Dr. Travis Weekes, theatre coordinator at the Department of Creative and Festival Arts at UWI, St Augustine, this dynamic duo brings the electric story of Lord Blakie to life.
