Of coarse an SA beats a DDX, but this is the dollar for dollar comp, if you wanted to get loud on 200$ the evl beats the sa all day

I've owned both of these subs in a single 12 set up. First I had the sa-12 which performed awesome but then i had the evl-12 which honestly was noticeably louder and had better sound quality than the Sundown. Both are great subs but in my experience the skar did better than the sa-12. Now I'm running 2 skar vxf-12s on a Skar RP 2000.1D which was a HUGE jump from the single evl-12. If anybody is considering a single or double EVL-12 set up I highly recommend you spend the extra $60 per sub for the vxf-12 that way when you want to upgrade you can simply upgrade your amp instead of having to buy all new subs like I did.

Sundown all day, they are not overrated either they make you pay for quality if you wanna beat the breaks off a sub buy a sundown...I got a skar txl and a zvx both of them got problems I've been running this sundown for over a year now on the same set up the other two were on so buy what you wants too, ive even had 2 skar amp quit on me the rp 2000 and skv2 3500 I've not had no luck with skar audio not bashing them, just no luck with them

I really enjoy the editing work you did with this video, showing off the Sundown SA-12 in detail, reminds me of the Orion HCCA from back in 99' with the same frame in red and a TC9 motor, I would torture a EVL-12 without question though if I could bring myself to buy one.

I'm confused I'm new to this shit but I had a rocking ass setup 2 fosgate p3's rated 800 I think and pushed them with a skar 2000.1 monoblock amp, I pushed it to far with the gain all the way down, if sa is rated 750 how will it withstand 2000? I'd hate to blow another 200 just to blow a speaker

@@I_push_chickens simple. It’s about the engineering. Sundown over engineers their stuff. I’ve had many of their subs with 0 failures. I’ve had many rockford subs, kenwood subs, JBL, JL and Kicker subs fail. It’s due to the amount of money invested in R&D and what the sub was built for.

Personally I'd be nice to try Sundown vs DD audio vs DC Audio and in the end test out a Jl audio w3v3, w6v3,w7 that would be so amazing to compare a wide range of subwoofers. Let me know I could possibly help with some of those brands of Subs to test.

LOVE your videos man. Nice work. I own several of the Skar Audio EVL 6.5" D4 units. They are excellent. I swear by Skar Audio. Their pure copper coils and cone structure makes them have the purest audio my 51 year old ears have ever heard. Keep on doing these tests!

The Evl-65 (6 1/2" subs use pure copper the larger subs (DO NOT) have pure copper coils. They are actually built with a black aluminum ccaw voice coil. I personally like the VXF line because both the 12" & 15" subs are made with pure copper voice coils. Hope this helps👍

I had 2 2ohm E 15s at 1ohm 1000w on each one from 2 audiopipe amps on each sub. And crossover at 31hz from the dec in a 3cube sealed box and they slammed n pushed 151db in a 2000 honda crv. I cant wait for the new E v4's!!!!! I got the evl 12 on the way rn. Be here in one more day. Cant wait. Them ap amps are the truth for a budget. But the taramps r comin up.

I’ve had an old Audioque HDC4 15” before. Audioque became Soundqubed at some point during the last 15 years. That Audioque 15 to date is still the single loudest sub I have ever had on 2k watts. Thing ate every bit of the power. If you’re going to go Soundqubed, treat the HDC2 as a entry level, HDC3 as a mix of SPL and SQ, and the HDC4 is sheer SPL. It can and will break windows with enough power, in the right box if you get an HDC4 however so be careful.

Owned countless sa 12s they use to be $125+ woofers back then. Today I would say they highly aren't worth it. If you have the money u get bragging rights and they will perform abd last for ever. Seeing how the economy is messed up and has been for a while now I'm sure there are far more people looking for budget friendly woofers. When it comes to musical or a daily woofer id take the evl over the sa. If I was competing and cared about the meter I would go with the sa.

Evl isn’t that great of a sub Sa is a budget sup A x or zv5 sundown will absolutely shit on any skar sub Once you step to big power there is zero contest between skar Not saying skar can’t be loud or sound good , I’ve had Zvx and Vxf, but a zv5 or even a x will shit on those hard

The sundown has a straight motion, but I'm wondering if it is rated correct. You said in a prior video that your Dayton amp does 800 clean watts; so your pushing it at it's full power but without the stability of a box. Yet like you said, you've tested quite a few in the same setup. The evl did have less mechanical noise during it's run.

Back in the day I was rocking kickers L5s with an hifinics brutus... I recently got back into the game with some skar evls and let me tell you, skars might be higher wattage blah blah blah, they don't compete with kicker, they are not as loud and clear as I remember my kickers. Just look at the design, skar and sundown are cheaper made. Anyone wants to buy my evls? 🤣
