I am Garhwali but I didn't know this is a Kumaoni song coz it's played on every occasion in Garhwal. I grew up listening to this. 😅 That's a compliment to the popularity and sweetness to this song. Also coz I can understand this even though I don't know Kumaoni. Perhaps that's the reason for the misconception. Anyway, people have right to correct wrong identification. No need to fight and be bitter. We can listen to other people without getting abusive. 😅 We don't need to pick up fights of forgone kings and kingdoms. Love to Kumaon, Garhwal, Jaunsar, and the plains of Rishikesh, Haridwar, Dehradun, and to all of Uttrakhand and Bharat. 😊

priyanka sharma Bedu means berries , pako means ripe, barah, you could guess, it is 12 and masa is month. Collectively, Berries are ripen for all twelve months. Next sub-line , “Oh Naren,, Kafal pako Chaita, meri chaillaa”, Naren is , I guess, he/she calling each other, there are certain words in Garhwali/kumaoni that you only use, it is one of them. Kafal is a special kind of berry, here it is. Chaita is “mid-March to mid-April” period of the year. So, you may now collect this as “Oh Naren, Kafal is ripen on Chaita.” Rest of lyrics in the song describes for places namely Laal-Bazaar of Almora, Nainital’s Naina devi temple

This is a not a Garhwali song but Kumauni song sung in Khasparjiya (Almora) dialect of Kumaun. Mentioning it as Garhwali instead of Pahadi or Uttrakhandi song will obviously offend Kumauni people like me. It's similar to putting a Haryanvi song with title as Punjabi and then saying Haryanavi or Punjabi everyone is Indian.

Bedu Pako Baro Masa is a Kumaoni folk song in Kumaoni language which was composed by Mohan Upreti, B. M. Shah and written by Brijendra Lal Shah. This is a kumauni song so please change the title. I know it's the anthem of whole UK but before that it's a kumauni song and will always be. If you can't put kumauni in title then at lease put Uttarakhandi, we kumaunis wouldn't mind but putting garhwali in the title on a kumauni song is disrespectful and creates difference.
