Great work! Also I appreciate your explanations. Could you please tell or share a link to what exactly dremel bits you are using at 5:16 ? Are those diamond ones?
@ChiseledOutdoorsCC Жыл бұрын
Thanks! Yes, I am using diamond burr bits at that time frame. You can find them fairly cheap on amazon.

Awesome carving! I've been following you for a long time and all of your carvings and videos are excellent. I'm a hobby carver and always looking to learn more so I really appreciate your sharing your work. Could you please tell me where you source your white pine? I mostly carve in craft store Basswood and repurposed Black walnut and Cherry, when someone gives me some. 😊Thank you ,so much!

Thank you I appreciate the support and I'm happy to hear my videos help! I get my wood from a local sawmill and I prep it for carving myself. I'm thinking about posting wood blanks on my Etsy page for those that are interested. So if you are one of those please voice your interest! If enough people share that they'd like carving blanks then I'll definitely plan on going forward with it in the near future.

I love your channel so much you are very talented.. Where do you get your wood to carve with? I can’t seem to find any good wood where I live? Could you maybe do a video on where to get your wood, or how to prepare wood to carve on? Thank you for any help Craig

Thank you I'm glad you enjoy the channel! I get my wood from a local sawmill and I prep it myself. I actually sell the wood I use on my Etsy page so feel free to check it out. It's all prepped and ready to carve out of the package.

Very nice carving! Did you use a pre stain finish prior to staining?
@ChiseledOutdoorsCC3 жыл бұрын
Thanks! In a way I did. I applied a coat of natural clear stain first. It's not technically a pre-stain, but it pretty much did the same thing.

Can you please tell me where to get a chisel set like that? I’ve had no such luck in any sort of decent carving tools. Also.. holy wow!! I absolutely love this piece. You are quite a talented artist
@ChiseledOutdoorsCC2 жыл бұрын
Thanks! pfeil has been a great brand and they come razor sharp. You can get them on Amazon and woodcraft.com. Schaaf is also a great brand if your just starting to carve. I would buy there premium sets though because those come pre sharpened.

What do you recommend for a good set of chisels/gouges?
@ChiseledOutdoorsCC2 жыл бұрын
Well from personal experience, pfeil gouges are great. They come razor sharp and ready to carve. I’ve carved with schaaf as well which are great gouges if your starting out. I’d recommend buying the schaaf premium gouge sets though because those are sharpened and carve ready. Only downside with schaaf is you can only buy sets. If you need a particular gouge to get the job done you’ll have to buy a set to get it and their selection is limited. I’ve heard two cherries is good too but I’ve never carved with them.
