भारत के दिग्गज बल्लेबाज सुनील गावस्कर ने टी20 विश्व कप 2024 जीतने के लिए रोहित शर्मा की प्रशंसा करते हुए कहा कि सलामी बल्लेबाज रोहित शर्मा भी एमएस धोनी और कपिल देव की तरह ही लोगों के कप्तान हैं। रोहित टी20 विश्व कप 2007 और 2013 चैंपियंस ट्रॉफी जीतने वाली भारत की टीम के सदस्य थे। बतौर कप्तान वनडे विश्व कप 2023 और विश्व टेस्ट चैंपियनशिप में उपविजेता रहे। रोहित को आखिरकार किस्मत का साथ तब मिला, जब भारत ने पिछले महीने केंसिंग्टन ओवल में दक्षिण अफ्रीका को सात रन से हराकर टी20 विश्व कप जीता।
