This is genius!!! In NCERT and Maharashtra state board book the concept is okay to understand but not the best way to retain it... also sometimes in NCERT, the concept is made just way, too short to get hold of..rather it's better in board book(HSC) BUT, have to admit this! This was an epic way to understand and also retain the Lac operon. Kudos!!! Thanks sir!✌👋❤

Thank you so much sir. You are the only person who cleared all my doubts about Lac Operon. 🙏
@suryamishra17965 жыл бұрын
It's a nice explanation in a simple way. One thing only I would like to add here is about the Allolactose & conformational change in Repressor not dissociation of sub-units. [Allolactose is a disaccharide similar to lactose. It consists of the monosaccharide D-galactose and D-glucose linked through a β1-6 glycosidic linkage instead of the β1-4 linkage of lactose. It may arise from the Trans glycosylation of lactose by β-galactosidase.] When lactose is present, allolactose binds to the lac repressor, causing an allosteric change in its shape only but not have role in dissociation of tetramer. So that, repressor can't bind the operator effectively. Isopropyl β-D-1-thiogalactopyranoside (IPTG) is a commonly used allolactose mimic to induce the lac-operon system.
