I like how you don't get bogged down in the rocks. I also like the contrast between the warm rocks, tree and foliage and the cool water. It is windy for winter. We all wish the wind would just die down. 😔 Hope all your friends in Malibu are safe. 🙏

You could go back and watch the video from the last time you painted here. Then report back what you noticed about your progress, process, etc. Fun video, I like when you talk throughout. I know I watched that first video because as soon as you showed where you were, I remembered it from before.

Thanks so much for your explanation of how exactly you incorporated that look of direct sunlight (bringing warmth into the rocks and trees). I’m a beginner when it comes to painting so that’s a helpful tip.

Hi been watching from New Zealand and i really feel for you all in LA .I Know there are huge and more important needs with a lot lot more priority than art . But art can be helpful also to get through the pain of the tragedy . I hope in some small way that artist like Michel and myself many others can help restore a sense of normality. I am christen and have been praying for all affected by the fires daily will keep doing so .Stay strong at this time whoever you are God Bless

When the video started I paused it for a while and stared at the scene you were going to paint and tried to figure out how to approach it. Your actual painting turned out a lot better than my mental one. For one thing I would’ve gotten lost in the ice plant and drawn the eye down that way and messed up the composition. I see what you mean about the white water on the left, but I don’t think it really takes away anything from the painting. I wouldn’t mess with it if I were you. It turned out beautifully

I was sketching a scene at a local park in pencil and an older woman looked over my shoulder for a minute before commenting, "That tree is too far to the left. It goes over there." "I know," I replied, "but I like it better here." "It's wrong," she insisted. "It really isn't there. " I looked at her for a moment. "Okay," I replied. "You caught me. I'm a time traveler from the year 2030. After the big earthquake this summer, it really will be here." She just stared at me before walking away. 😅
