I'm a kid now and I hate all music nowadays. I don't like any of it. The Kinks are an absolute inspiration to me and I love music from the 60s. I'm a Kinks fanatic! Love them.

Oh, woe is you...I'm 63 and grew up listening to the obvious usual suspects from the 60's and 70's and yes the music was fantastic and it was because everything was NEW and FRESH and fairly innocent - there unfortunately were sleazeball managers and record companies that ripped artists and bands off but on the whole things were fine and the quality of music was, on the whole, superb... However, innocence gone today- multinationals run the music industry and because 60 years have elapsed since Elvis The King slipped on his Blue Suede Shoes, many more genres and sub genres of pop/rock music have sprung up... There are certainly far more artists recording than way back when... I believe there are still many talented people producing excellent music - you have to hunt for it - I tend to look at reviews in UNCUT and MOJO to find out about interesting new stuff and there is a free cd every month which can sometimes help you along... If you want to try some new music try DIAMOND MINE by KING CREOSOTE and JON HOPKINS... OUROBOROS by RAY LAMONTAGNE.... MEET THE HUMANS by STEVE MASON... there are many many more if you look...Not all new music is crap - and not everyone is manufactured via those cruddy fucking talentless talent shows... We have one here in Australia called THE VOICE and every person associated with this abortion should be impaled on a lance and fed to Ramsey Bolton's dogs.
