Dowry is literally a society/hierarchy/wealth complex. If the boy rejects dowry then the family gets triggered because their friends family will say “ooohhh hame to ghar mila inko kuch nhe mila” so it becomes a thing of they’re shamed and their status drops etc The views that should be more common sense like dowry should not exist are really not common sense sadly 😭😭😭
