Suno AI NEW V4 Update Is The Best Change Ever

The way I'm using Suno now has helped me to get an idea of how my song could sound. I do write my own lyrics and come up with a melody for verse and chorus while I play some chord progressions in my guitar. I record myself on the phone. I then upload that track into Suno and use the cover feature, specifying where I want the verses, chorus, bridge and solos. Since I don't have a band, it definitely helps to get a decent demo to take to the studio and record the song.

They need to have better beta testing. The reverb problem is trashing over half my tracks, stereo field too wide most of the time. I'm going to use 3.5 till they fix the problems, also starting to learn to use udio. it been tough so far, but the sound is much better.

You are 100% right. Even if song structures are not that bad, the sound quality is like if you are slowly adding a telephone filter, a sh*tty compression or a bit crush after 30 seconds. At the end, it's only a mess, a soup where you can barely detail instruments. Trebbles are horrible. 🤮The best part is people are so hyped with Suno, they don't even realise they are listening sh.t now and get used to it. 😔 Udio has a better engine for sound quality. But it still struggle with prompts, a lot of hallucinations. Those two AI should work together. 😄 When Suno says they offer Radio quality music, it's not Radio ready, but really Radio soundalike

@korozif4204 I embrace Udio's hallucinations. It's gibberish is second to none. Sometimes the sound quality of audio astounds me. Sometimes individual instruments are artifacty and ruins a great song. Suno once made ma a beautiful masterpiece, which sadly decayed into sonic garbage by the time I finished extending it. That was back in April, and the sounds have become crappier and more generic since then. I still subscribe to support developers but I'm truly disappointed in Suno. If people want music that all sounds like the soundtrack to a Viagra commercial then Suno is the place to go to make it. That said, my friend has made some incredible hip-hop and rap with Suno. I guess it hates me. I hope I didn't make it hate me 😂

@@glenesis Yeah, sometimes with Udio, even if you ask for Instrumental, you often have a kind of drunk guy talking for intro . Sounds like a lost track of John Frusciante's Niandra Lades and Usually Just a T-Shirt album...

The remastering function is truly terrible, it alters the stereo image of the song in an absolutely unnatural way... calling it an improvement probably means not having adequate listening or not having an adequate experience.

I haven’t yet created a new song in V4, but I did try using it to remaster several of my V3.5 song files. To my ears, the lead vocals sounded clearer and less auto-tuned-a noticeable improvement. However, the instrumental stems, along with the backing vocals (most of which I wrote and prompted as counterpoint hooks), lost much of their clarity, crispness, and punch. As a result, the lead vocals felt too forward in the mix, the instrumentals sounded slightly muted and poorly panned, and the backing vocals were almost lost. I’m considering an experiment: taking the instrumental stems from the 3.5 version and the vocal stems from the V4 version (optionally processed through Audimee), mixing them together in a DAW, and then re-mastering the result.

These were exactly my thoughts about this "remastering". I wanted to like it, but I grew increasingly disappointed as I tried different examples: more "misses" than "hits". Even those that I thought did sound better, left the vocals far too forward, and weakened the instrumental. Others had strange panning decisions. Others changed the vocalists, when that was what I liked most in my 3.5 song... Very underwhelming so far, unfortunately. I will keep on testing and using V4, but I hope Suno will keep on working on this. (In the meantime, I am also thinking of doing what you mentioned, with my DAW, to try and make the best of some of my favourite songs.)

Interestingly enough, it wasn't power metal I created, but I remixed some of the death metal I did that featured blast beats and/or extreme technical drumming. 3.5? Absolutely awesome. V4? Just endless metallic clanging from the snare and toms as if generated from a very low-end drum machine. Not only that, it absolutely choked the guitar sound. You having sonic issues with your guitars sounding kind of buried in your remixes?

@@thuthao9402 There's also the Exclude Styles toggle that can be turned on when creating new songs. This helps with telling Suno what is shouldn't include in the song. You could add "male vocalist" to ensure the song output is female only.

The issue I have had with the vocals is it sounded like it was being autotuned or electronic, mechanical. The new vocals are much better I feel. Could there be improvements, sure.

@@MasterAIFast I am listening to a track now and it does sound like it has a chorus effect added. Which I suppose is ok. I will have to see if I can strip the track down so I can do some of my own processing. I also wish that when you do a STEMS it would break it down to individual instruments but I suppose that is fine. I can use another tool for that. There are still the odd errors like at the end of tracks where it seems to add more. And there are things like this [Intro] (Heavy bassline with a dark, building drum beat) Where it speaks it but not always. It is freakin random. Not sure if there is a tagging issue or what. I end up having to break out the vocals, take the instrumental and vocals into a tool, and edit out the stuff it isn't supposed to say or sing. IDK, I am using chatGPT to create the lyrics and it is one that someone created specifically for Suno so maybe it is out of date as it is V3 and maybe things changed in the way suno did things then v now.

For me, the funk song sounds the same v3.5 and v4. But the hip-hop song version 4 sounds better. With the Rock song v4 sounds better. I'm listening on my samsung earbuds 3 pro. Great Video 👍

One thing I find extremely annoying is the high pitched "chirping" sound in the background whenever there's electric guitars, example @06:03 It sounds like some sort of SID chip artefact. Allso them lyrics... "row, row, row... row your boat, put on a big brown coat, we're hanging upside down when we're waiting in doubt" ...VERY metal indeed! =)

There are some meta prompts that might help, but I’ve been importing song files into Udio and using the “in-paint” function to edit lyrics. A word of caution: if the composition is longer than two minutes, it cannot be imported back into Suno. However, this may not be a deal breaker, as Udio can create and add interesting arrangements to an unfinished song. Additionally, I believe Udio has the ability to split songs into four stems, which can sometimes be useful in a DAW mix.

If you're trying to fix the lyrics in Suno's Song Replace Section area, be aware that it can be somewhat misleading. There are two options: "Edit Song Details" and "Replace Section." Only the "Replace Section" feature will allow you to edit the lyrics effectively. You'll get to try two different versions before you need to confirm your changes. From my experience, you might need to generate four or more attempts before Suno accurately changes the lyrics to what you've specified.

I'm not sure I am happy with V4, Tried Remastering a few tracks, and the signature melody gets lost, so I am anxious to use the new rendition after all, my Audience have latched onto the originals already ( Non clarity and all). If V4 Could do an exact Remaster and retain melody lines, it would be a rock start upgrade, but melody line for me wins over pristine quality. Just an observation I cannot use Persona i saved with V3.5 it automatically defaults to V4 when I select my saved Persona. ( Sorry this sounds like a moan session ) but I'll experiment, after all its day 1 of the journey. There seems to also be a very "Live" feel to a few renders, So my verdict is, V3.5 will still be my go to and V4 will get the odd experimental try.

I think the remaster function just steals the charackter of the songs,just deleting all the old harmonys and sounds out of the melody wich sucks, so only the voice beeing better and the rest being bad, I dont think it's better
