Sunrise on Sanghelios (Arbiter/Master Chief Reunion) | HCS Community Stage

Yesterday, at the Halo World Championship, I was among the first row of people who witnessed the legendary voice actors Steve Downes, Jennifer Taylor, and (of course) the LEGENDARY Keith David read out an extraordinary new short story: Sunrise on Sanghelios. This set after the events of Halo 5, where Thel ‘Vadam and Master Chief catch up after last seeing each other at the ending of Halo 3.
And in it, we get some heartfelt writing that was touched upon only briefly in Halo: Bad Blood!

The Arbiter talking about failure reminds me of Chief talking about his own failures with Esparza. It takes a lot to grow from one’s mistakes, and it may be difficult but it can be done.

Thel's words "We all fail. We all make mistakes." were actually in that cutscene with Esparza, meaning that John really took Thel's words to heart and gave that wisdom to someone else who was very much needing it at the time. :)

Wait so Master Chiefs line “we all fail we all make mistakes” in halo infinite was actually inspired by the arbiter? That makes that line in Halo infinite so much more deep tbh. Holy shit.

This being canon can explain Chiefs newer attitude in Infinite, getting Chief to open up in infinite and making him show his scars really makes infinite a good game regardless of its flaws. It’s good to see that’s connection could be made from this conversation between the two
