Based on the songs that they covered, you can actually put a story how it will be if there's an anime based on these songs. Dear maria Count Me In -- Maria and her male childhood friend decided to form a band with other kids to enter Japanese National Music Competition. At first, her childhood friend don't want to join her, but finally join her after Maria convinced him. And they began their journey to search and gather musician to join their band. Misery Business -- Maria and her band finally enter Japan showbiz and they are officially a rock star. But Maria started to hit with starstruck and start to be feel complacent, much to her childhood friend and band member annoyance. This is also when it's revealed that her childhood friend is secretly having a crush on Maria. I'm Not Okay -- Maria start to get in relationship with guitarist from other band member and start to abandoned her own band. This caused a scandal when her boyfriend accidentally share her sexy photos to social media. Maria's childhood friend is arguing with her about whether Maria actually care about their band or not, resulted with her childhood friend left the band followed by other band member. Face Down -- Their band is officially disbanded and Maria temporarily joined her boyfriend's band. Little did she knows that her boyfriend doesn't trully care about her and only use her to gain more popularity of his own band when in the same time, also reduce Maria's band and her own popularity. This proven when her boyfriend start to abuse her physically and mentally. The childhood friend who got suspicious with this confronted him to protect Maria. Ocean Avenue -- Maria who already got depressed was taken by her to their old neighborhood when they used to play under a cherry tree. They reminisced about their childhood while her childhood friend convinced her that 'everything's gonna be okay'. Maria then apologize to her childhood friend after what she has done. Her childhood friend forgive her and together they re-establish their band, confront/sue her ex-boyfriend and re-enter the showbiz. At the end they manage to do it and Maria decided to ask her childhood friend out as she finally realize that the only who cares about her from the beginning is her childhood friend.
