It's really a shame that Chris Paul is so injury prone because there are a NUMBER of teams who could use an ACTUAL point guard. A REAL floor general, not just someone wanting to score a lot. A healthy Chris Paul would be GOLD for the Celtics, Lakers, Nets, Kings, Heat, or Spurs. He is so good at leading younger players. Look at what he did in Houston and OKC and how elevated New Orleans and the Clippers were when he ran the point.

I think his problem is that Skip feels like he created Shannon (the media figure not the Hall of Fame athlete). And to a certain degree, he did. Shannon was languishing as a football analyst with no other big-time media prospects before Skip chose him for this show. Now he's a national brand. However, I don't think either of them will be as successful without each other. If Shannon focuses too much on pro-black everything, he will have trouble drawing a consistent white audience (still the biggest sports media demographic), hurting his long-term brand marketability. And Skip has never had a better/more entertaining/insightful debate partner than Shannon Sharpe. He will be tough to replace. It's a loss for both sides, even if Shannon feels he can do better on his own. It's really hard to produce a show without a major network. Only a few guys have ever really done it.

Bucks would be ideal imo, because they have size and depth to contend with any team, especially with the Nuggets, but need a ball handler for when Giannis is out. Celtics are too guard heavy as is and don't have any bigs. More questions with resigning Brown. Either Bucks or take the mid level with the Suns.

Skip Bayless apparently refusing to acknowledge Shannon Sharpe's value is one of the worst unforced errors in the history of sports media. Sharpe has consistently recognized publicly his indebtedness to Skip for giving him (Sharpe) an opportunity to demonstrate his ability to entertain as a commentator. Skip should have realized that the only way to maintain any relevance at all would be to continue to support Sharpe's rise. Countless mentors have passed the baton to a mentee in the course of history. It's normal and shows that you - the mentor - made a wise choice in elevating this particular person - the mentee. That's called success. Instead, Bayless stubbornly and egotistically refused to grow into a mutually beneficial coequal partnership with Shannon. The result? Bayless is now more reviled than ever and his future relevance and ratings are uncertain *at best*. I'm not a Skip Bayless fan, but I do think these two work well together on camera. As a Lakers fan, I have mixed feelings about potentially getting Chris Paul. I know he's less problematic on/off-court but he's so injury prone that I don't know if he's worth pursing. If Kyrie Irving is really trying to play with Lebron again, even with all his issues on and off the court, he might still be a better option. I really don't believe Lebron is going to leave California for Texas just to appease Kyrie Irving, more than likely Kyrie will come to LA if he's serious about playing with Lebron again.

Not saying we would have beaten Denver in the series, but even at this age CP3 is really good PG. Its real shame he gets injured EVERY YEAR in the playoffs. I would personally love to see CP-Book-KD trio given one more shot, but with more reliable backup than Shamet and/or Payne, and a more focused, aggressive big man.

Chris Paul only makes sense on a minimal contract. If he goes to the Lakers, he’d take that 2020 Rondo role. Same for a team like the Clippers or Heat or Celtics.
