I was a telephone installer and repairman in Montecito for 30+ years ... I retired in 2005. Been in most of its mansions and worked for most of its celebrities. I'd see Oscars or an Emmy on a mantle and most were for writers, costume design, screenplays, directors, or other such talents. When I retired I sold out, packed up, and moved out of California to a saner place. However, I did enjoy working in Montecito and taking your relaxing and reminiscing drive through the area.

It must have been incredibly expensive to live in that area . ... I would imagine even a small modest house would cost a lot and the taxes surely must be outrageous . But yes it looks like it was certainly beautiful there

Beautiful place, but I noticed that sadly (like so many US towns and cities) there were a lot of roads with absolutely no bike lanes or sidewalks. It’s sad when everything is built around the car to the point where pedestrians and cyclists are totally excluded and have nowhere to go but the road where their safety is not guaranteed.

SB and Montecito are towns of the early-mid 20th century, from before anybody thought of things like bike lanes. Part of their charm is that such an effort has been made to keep them as they have always been, but that means that they lack some modern conveniences.

Hello again! These are some of my suggeestions for sunset drives... They say that deserts have beautiful sunsets. If possible go to the Mojave desert, Joshua Tree and Death Valley and take a ride on some of the highways that pass through those areas? Sure would be a nice video of the Palm Springs sunset while driving through town or coming into the place. I would like to see some of main streets of San Fernando, then Burbank, Glendale, Griffith park and the observatory, HOLLYWOOD sign. There is an extremely beautiful view of the city from The Bird Streets ((Hollywood hills)), (if I'm not mistaken, it's N Doheny Dr) and if I remember anything else, and I certainly will, I will contact you. Here, now you judge how economical all that is for you and of cours, along the way. 🤔😉... Whatever you decide, I remain the faithful follower of this wonderful channel! I really enjoyed this I love the ocean and mountain views and especially those real tall hedges ... wonderful . It would be great if sometimes somebody would have the camera facing out the side window so we can get a better look at everything and the buildings .

I've never been to California and always wanted to go but it sounds like such a crazy Place anymore and unless you really are rich it doesn't sound like it's a good place to live anymore .

Most of its filthy and full of homeless and down and out streets, closed shops and businesses, awful.

I'm sure there must still be some really nice places to live there but one would either have to be doing pretty well financially but the question is , is the place going to keep getting worse ... or are things going to get better there anytime soon .
