I use the beater now 48 with fins . Boogie style, big waves punta Zicatela Mexico, for 5 years, will the 54 give me easier paddle in and more flotation. Also Compared to a regular boogie board wider in the back, is it easier to paddle into the bigger waves…they come in fast and big…

😢I never thought I'd see the day Sunset became the mellower, open face, less crowded, 'old guy' spot. (Yes, I know older guys on huge guns have been out there for 40+ years. I'm talking about JOB, JJF and other 30 somethings on HPSBs) Anyone who keeps surfing starts prioritizing a little space, a more mellow crowd - basically you just want to get wet, get a little exercise, and not have to be on a full aggro mission just to catch a few waves. Yes I know it sounds ridiculous - Sunset would be the most intense break anywhere else in the world. But compared to the crowd, tight peak, full on send it mentality, etc at Pipe, in the year 2025, Sunset looks like the "fun" alternative.
