We’ve been going to robbers cave for over 25 years. Old Circle #32 is our standing reservation. We use the grill every time we’re there. Lots of deer steak bites, burgers, brats, etc... The staff is so friendly as well.

Robbers Cave is one of the best! We usually camp there for Thanksgiving and we always enjoy getting to explore around the campground and the trout fishing. We've never used the BBQ grills for cooking. Maybe the random drying out something but...never for cooking! Seems like the last few years that putt-putt course has been closed. Great review and interesting views with the drone.
@SunsetSeekers4 жыл бұрын
Well, fortunately for us the weather was much nicer then when you guys were there last. Although, we did get a freeze that first night that froze up our water pressure regulator and water hose, we had a great Christmas holiday there! I think it would be disgusting to cook anything on one of those grills (no matter how well you cleaned it) because you have no idea what's been on it!! LOL! Thanks for the kind words and for watching!!

@@SunsetSeekers during December did you have lady bugs? That was always our biggest complaint at Thanksgiving was that we left and our camper was covered and full of lady bugs. It was wild.

I think over my travels maybe 2 peeps using that grill but yes they always seem to have somewhat fresh used charcoal in them. I personally would not use them, not sure what was on them

I've always thought they were kind of gross, but a number of people have said that they use them as a base and bring their own rack for grilling! It might be a better alternative to lugging around my gas grill that never seems to cook evenly!

I love your videos! We keep a rack from an old charcoal grill in our camper and use the one at the site for a base - less packing space required. The top on the site grill usuall folds back out of the way.

Awesome! Thank you for the kind words! I'm going to think about going the charcoal grill route! It might prove to be better than lugging around my gas grill which never seems to cook evenly! Great video! We love Robber's Cave. We have had family reunion there a couple of years ago. The rock fire pits are new to us. The cabin interiors are nice, and well appointed as well. My cousin stayed in the exact site you were in, and we were in the site your in-laws were. We found the site you were in was better for those with mobility issues and the site we were in was better suited for those who are more "nimble afoot". We really liked how private the site your in-laws were in seemed to be. Once you stepped down into the yard area, very tranquil. We were there the first week of June. The flies were certainly making their presence known! 😉 Overall I highly recommend old Circle at Robber's Cave! 👍👍

Of all the state parks in Oklahoma you have visited thus far, which is your favorite or most recommended? Considering the environment, local activities available, amenities, scenery, etc? Thanks!
@SunsetSeekers5 ай бұрын
Well, I've only been to 5 Oklahoma State parks so I don't consider myself to be an expert but of the 5 that I have visited, I would recommend them all. Beavers Bend by far has more activities and fun things to do around the state park and I would have to make it #1 for that reason alone. Robbers Cave would be a close 2nd.

Love your reviews. We booked site #26 because of the video and just got back on July 1st. We loved the site. The entire campground is beautiful. They have updated the bathrooms at the lake area and deepford tent campground. Very nice and clean. They are also building a restaurant on the lake and completely rebuilding the Belle Star lodge. And P.S. We've never used the grill either. We love cooking over an open wood fire. 😀

I love CCC structures, with the big stone. This park looks really nice, a bummer about the bathrooms being closed though, but, I suppose, it freezes, it happened to you. Okay, that covered wagon room is too cool. Do you do color grading on your video? The greens really pop on this video, looks AMAZING.
@SunsetSeekers4 жыл бұрын
Yes! I just started experimenting with color grading! You are probably the only person I know that would notice that or ask a question about it! I wanted to make the colors pop without making it look artificial! It was hard to find the right balance but I think it turned out pretty good! Thanks for noticing and for the compliment! Every CCC structure we've ever seen has been amazing! Looking forward to Martin Creek!
