Sunshine Auto Header at Laura Ag Bureau Centenary Part 1

The Laura Agricultural Bureau, in South Australia, celebrated its centenary in 2014, which is also the centenary of the Sunshine Auto Header and these videos show a restored Auto Header being used to reap a crop at Laura, South Australia.

Yes. Today you can sit inside an air conditioned cab with power steering and even have the machine drive itself.

I don't know how much of a crop they had there, but that machine was harvesting at a fair pace considering its age.

I just checked with my brother who told me that the crop yielded 20 bags per acre and the header was travelling at 4.5 miles per hour. They filled 65 three bushel bags in half an hour. They had to stop the header and clear the elevator when it blocked up.
