Keebler bought Sunshine and a short time later killed these unique cookies. Nothing like them on the US market and they were truly awesome! I will give this recipe a whirl. Thanks for sharing it!

My sisters and I were having a discussion of some of our favorite childhood memories and these raisin cookies came up. We all loved them and remembered them being one of our favorite snacks. We could not remember what they were called and so the Googling began...and found your page. As I write these words, my first batch of cookies are cooling on the counter. I ignored your advice about tasting the cookies while still hot. I had a bite. Exactly what I remembered them tasting like. Thank you!

You "nailed" the recipe. Thanks. My bride (of 32+ years) and I yesterday baked and ate some of the biscuits. They brought back such memories! We almost felt like we were teenagers again. Thanks again.

Bravo for doing all the work of reconstructing these! And especially for your point about feeling for lumps in the baking soda - I always do that too because like you said, biting into a lump of it is horrible! I can't wait to try them.

I transcribed the recipe from the video but if you have a written recipe, I would love to obtain it. Could you perhaps post it in the About section above. Thank you so much once more.

Do you remember Betty Crocker 'Date Bar' Mix? / It had an oatmeal bottom layer; the middle layer was of finely crushed moist dates; with an oatmeal top. It was a simple mix. The only problem I see is the finely crushed moist dates. all dates I have tried have a hard outer coating. help if anyone knows about this and how to re-create. Thank you!
@jeanniewahine54432 жыл бұрын
Well, this is certainly a late reply, but just in case you are still interested, I have a suggestion for your concern about the dates. Add the pitted dates to water (or juice) and simmer them similar to how she did the raisins in this video. The Betty Crocker website has the recipe and they say to simmer the filling, so this works.
