You can never beat the original but I like this a LOT it's not trying to copy exactly you have taken the song and made it your own in a sense as in it is sunshine superman but with your own unique style to it I really like it

Donovan came from my home town Glasgow. Thanks for this great cover of one of his many great songs.

@@SugarLimeBlue Not really. He left Glasgow when he was young & was known in the early Sixties to hitch around with a guy called Gypsy Dave. I have heard him tell the story about writing a verse for a Beatles song when they went to India to meet the Maharishi with Mike Love & Mia Farrow but George didn't use it. I once had a cassette radio recording of a Glastonbury set featuring Donovan with the Roches but it disappeared into the ether. I must go looking for it.

Had the 45 back in the day. We would buy them used as they came out of the jukeboxes, a nickel or a dime. As kids we did not have money, so always looking for the bargain. No stereo, just a record player.
