Mono to stereo demonstration of dry, Chorus and Vibrato with the Korg Mono/Poly
// There are a fair number of synthesizers with mono outputs. The Roland Jupiter-6, and Korg Mono/Poly are two of them that I have, and as much as I love them, I have always wondered what might be added by connecting a stereo output by way of a chorus pedal.
Yesterday I came into a lovely Boss CE-1 Chorus Ensemble in fantastic shape. So naturally the first thing I did was connect it to my Mono/Poly and see what it added to the experience.
Section 1 - DRY
A series of chords without effect.
Section 2 - CHORUS
A similar series of chords with the chorus effect on them.
Section 3 - Vibrato
A similar series of chords with the vibrato effect on them.
This was recorded in stereo and should reveal imaging with headphones to give us a sense of what the stereo output of the CE-1 can add to the otherwise mono output of the Mono/Poly.
I hope this inspires you to connect one out to one speaker, and the other to another, place as much space as possible between them and get lost in the space created between them.
