Hi Marius, thank you this is helpful but, having explained with your simplified 2 tick box example how of the 8 possible box tick combinations there are really only 3 valid outcomes, you don’t go back to the actual Sunsynk Work Mode Settings screen and show what combinations result in each of those 3 outcomes. Maybe a quick explainer or a note added to the video description. Thanks!

Very very good explanation and upgrade that SS should take into consideration. Thank you for this clarity

SunSynk made huge strides in their development over the past few years. The problem is they do new training materials all the time. Now there is a plethora of documentation and videos on old and new functionality available. The result is, it is a nightmare for any newcomer to know where to start and what information to ignore because it is out of date. SunSynk should delete old documentation that is not valid anymore and have one structured video course that starts at the beginning and forms a logical course.

Not delete outright, as old documentation can be useful, but have a "this is for xxxx firmware rev/revs and no longer applies to nnnn or newer firmware" note at the start of each video and top of each document.

Hi there, after an firmware update, my battery doesnt seem to be float charging when full, result is that I lose 15% cahrge from sunset to sunrise atleast... float charge is not disabled in the settings, do you maybe have any suggestions?

I think a further improvement could be made to place the trickle charge box to the right of the first checkbox and export power next to the second checkbox, since those boxes apply only to those check boxes. I’m not sure where the priority checkbox should go. When none of the boxes are checked I would think the battery should always be charged first, so it would only apply to the first checkbox.

I believe I have some insight to offer. There are in fact 5 useful combinations, so the 3 checkboxes are necessary. There are three basic modes but two variations for two of them. The distinction between the three modes lies in the CT. When Zero Export (which should be called “Use CT”) is unchecked, there is no CT so there is no limit to export and the only thing that can be measured is Production. Consumption, Import, and Export require a CT. When “Limit to Load Only” is checked, a built-in CT is all that’s necessary because Load and Grid are distinct and the inverter is able to measure those things with its built-in CT. What scenarios would this cover? Off grid and whole home backup with and without export. The third mode is the normal grid-tied system (with or without battery) where the grid and non-essential loads must be differentiated. Export either needs to be prevented or it needs to be measured so that home load consumption and export can be separately measured.

Marius, as a user not an installer of the system, Thank You for this great explanation. Agree with others though. To really complete this video, please pin a comment or even add a new video based on the settings one should apply to the tick boxes Sun Synk still uses. Your video is great but ends too soon. Need to show how to achieve your simple options within their tickboxes.

Remember that this my suggestion of how it should work. (Seemingly ignored by SunSynk). The "Load Priority" is charging batteries or send power to Critical loads priority.

Hi Marius , well explained - but what is the tick box "load priority " do ? regards dave

Hi Marius, thanks very much for your great series of videos. I wanted to ask, what is the purpose of the Auxiliary load setting, the documentations seems to state its used for sending excess solar power once critical loads are dealt with, however, that seems to me to be exactly the same as exporting to the non-critical loads. When would you use the Aux Load function, if ever?
@greenpro-greenproconsultin74207 ай бұрын
I have never used it. I wonder if its use was thought thru by Sunsynk.

@@greenpro-greenproconsultin7420 Thanks for the response Marius, I thought it through some more, and I was thinking, it could be for if you had say a second geyser, that you didnt want to ever be able to use grid power, but if there was ever excess power, you could feed it to the second geyser, and in some sense, store some excess energy in the hot water. But then the question arises, will the invertor prioritise the Aux load over the grid loads, if not, it really does seem useless.

So My question is if i have a pv system with my db split into non critical and critical. What must i tick on the work mode to push excess pv power to non critical loads also?

please help, just finished my install today and whilst messing about with the settings my invertor is now asking for a six digit passcode. how would I go about getting it?

Your purple arrow indicating feed to the grid is VERY confusing when one sees the 960 Watts actually flowing in (Postive 960 watts). The not so visable 916 Watts feeding to Critical Load confuses it even further as ones brain wants to calculate and verify it. (rant off) As far as the inverter goes, what confuses me, correct me if I am wrong, that when [Limit to Load] is Off, and [Solar Export] is On, that power gets fed from the grid side to the Load (Non Essentials) .. So if you export at R1 /kWh at that moment and Import at R2 KwH, you are actually losing ? If however the [Limit to Load] was On, one would first satisfy the internal requirement and export the balance.. This can be a big mistake from the setup side

Hi Marius. Where you having this problem with settings and export because the CT cable was 30m long?
@greenpro-greenproconsultin74202 жыл бұрын
No. The two issues were totally unrelated.

Another pet problem Im trying to figure out is why a system would export when it is still charging the battery. Could it be that the max Battery charging threshold (Amps) has been reached?
@TheAviation1012 жыл бұрын
Yes, there’s some models where you have 7kWp MPPT solar power but only max 3.68kW charging capability. The rest powers your house but if you have spare power still, it can be exported to grid.

Marius, you mean well, but you leave me as frustrated as Kieth from SunSynk's videos. You know what you're talking about, but not conveying it usefully. And like Kieth, you ignore some things, and don't complete your explanation on others. Once I figure out how to get my new system working, it seems I'll have to make my own video in an attempt to help others like me. I really am incredulous at the poor documentation for this kit!
