Sunyata Handpan - D Kurd 15 - Nitraded/stainless hybrid

The first Sunyata hybrid with a nitraded top shell and a stainless bottom shell, thanks to the stainless bottom, the bass notes have more sustain then on a nitraded bottom shell, but keeping the warm and full character without crosstalk in the higher range thanks to the nitraded top shell.

Interesting concept and just having courage to be be creative is great, but in my ears something just doesnt sound right. Maybe it's the scale or the key but doesn't feel connected. Since you are experimenting would you consider trying a copper top with stainless bottom or maybe all copper in B kurd or amara? FYI you are a wonderful craftsman with beautiful pans. Thanks 🙏😊

Hello there, ofcourse it's all a matter of taste when it comes to this instruments and there endless possibility's! Myself i really enjoy the fullness of the nitraded sound in combination with the nice and deep sustaining bass notes. I don't work with copper, i'm not even sure if there are any handpans made from copper already but it's a great idea! And thanks for the kind words :) All the best! Nathan
