I like the internal design, simply for the fact it shows you how a person fits into the hulking armour, which is just a nice detail, even if it will never really be seen by people making the model for an army

Abaddon’s time with chaos has made him the same size as a normal primarch

I’m am a space marine and primaris boy myself, but this is a superb model. One of the greatest GW ever produced. Still, Mortarion is even more superb, IMO, cool that you compared them both. It is a great Chaos release full of great models, chaos marines, characters, you name it. Thumbs up for Abbadon and for the review. 👍🏻 It’s a must have.

What happens to the rest of the bones in the 40K universe? You can hardly walk for stepping on skulls, but I never see any of the other 200 odd bones from the human body.

Standard skull rack procedure. You have to swap out your trophy's regularly. What you see on the model is probably just this weeks haul.

Could be going too deep into this, but I'd imagine that when the primaris came out of nowhere and started wrecking the chaos astartes, it was probably a huge blow to morale for the heretics. Abaddon probably chose to display a primaris helmet on purpose to demonstrate that these new marines will suffer the same fate as the traditional ones. It's probably just a morale booster for this new age.

Take away the scenic base and the trophy rack etc, and this model is a pretty cool template for what Primaris Terminators could be.

Drach'nyen should be AP -5. It's such a strong weapon lore wise, it hurt the emperor and he couldn't even destroy it... yet it somehow has worse AP then the Emperor's sword or gorechild? It has the same AP as genestealer cult abominant power hammers ffs XD. The Talon of Horus should be flat damage 3, currently Guillimans gauntlet is better then the Talon of Horus which doesnt make sense to me... this is a primarch's weapon, regardless of wether or not a primarch is using it, that should be reflected in his statline which it is with his strength being at 5, but the weapon itself should be powerful. I would much rather prefer for example: Drach'nyen Strength +1 AP -5 Damage 3 Talon of Horus Strength x2 AP -4 Damage 3

The AP part is fine by me, but the Weapon is extremely inconsistant both on and off the tabletop. It can rend open diamond hard gates and stop land raiders, blow people and rip their souls out, but somehow every Chapter Master it pokes walks away fine. IMO the ideal ruleset for abby and weapons should be like this; Talon Melee: S ×2 Ap 4 D 3 If a model suffers a Wound from the Weapon, it has -1 to Hit in melee for the rest of the game (no stacking of this effect). This would make Talon more like it's HH counterpar. Shooting: Rapid fire 3 S 5 Ap-1 D 1 Sword: S +1 Ap -3 D D3 Each 6 to Wound with sword inflicts it's Damage as Mortal Wounds INSTEAD of regular Damage (on top of attack bonus shtick). Increases dmg output absurdly with Veterans and Dark Apostle combo but won't make dmg too critically broken all while compensating slightly weaker AP and keeping with it's reputation of "passing through enemies like smoke" when it gets pissy. Boost his cost back to it's 265 from 6th, 5th and 7th to fit tweaks.

The size comparison is really nice, I wish more people did it. The smallest models I own are gaunts and guardsmen, the largest being the Lion. I’ve never seen Abaddon’s mini in person so I’ve always been confused as to how big he actually is

For fighting in melee, you can use his 6 attacks for the talon and then roll a d6 for the sword and if you don't get a 1 you can then do that many attacks. I really like having the sword ability because you can double your attacks.

Yes, when he attacks with the Talon of Horus you can also swing with the additional attacks from Drach'nyen and you don't have to use any base attacks, unlike using other models with multiple weapons, but similar to the Carnifex's tail attack. It's very good, and overlooked!

"One is a Primarch and one has been enlarged somewhat by ruinous powers"... "This is as close as you're going to get to a Primarch"... I wonder if you actually know about Abaddon's background. I think the icing on the cake was the theoretical match up of Abaddon vs Sanguinius. Do you even know the Talon of Horus is what killed Sanguinius and the Emperor? You roll the D6 whenever you want to use the sword. If you fight with the claw you don't need to roll the D6. Also that mechanic is common for a daemon weapon.

Generally you should use your 6 base attacks with the Talon of Horus and d6 with the sword. Unless you have to have that 3damage. Don't forget using VOTLW on him too when attacling with the sword.

Well I will agree with you that £37.50 is high. If it makes you feel any better in the states it is £45.78 ($60 USD) and for our upside down cousins its a whopping £57.10 ($105 AUD).

I Realize it's a very late reply, but the cape sort of "snaps" on between the right and left shoulderguards. So as long as you don't mind a small gap in the furs on the Drach'Nyen shoulderguard you can just omit glue entirely.

Dominik Wanda where does it specifically say this. In the rules where a character has more than one weapon they can allocate their attacks.

@@Sup3rSaiy3n normally the special rule of weapon beats the general rule - and the rule of the sword states that you can make THAT MANY (D6) attacks with it. If that would be additional it the wording would be "additional attacks" like at other weapon rules. Also other youtube previews read it like that but i can be wrong - perhaps GW will clear it in FAQs.
