Bro, this is legit good advice for making sure you don't look like an idiot on the way out. Thank you so much. Definitely going to need this.

Gary, this is amazing to hear! So great you are exploring new places to paddle. Keep it up, Beau

Great post. Seriously whitewater is the one thing that scares me most . Catching and riding waves is easy but getting out back safely and not hurting yourself or others is definitely more difficult and should not be underestimated . For now I stick to smaller surf ( around 2 foot or less) to minimise risk of injury . A SUP board is huge even at 8foot . One hit to your head could be fatal if you are knocked out even in shallow water.

As a relative beginner I’m living your videos. Some excellent and useable tips and the style is easy and very explanatory so even I can understand. Hoping to try some out this weekend

This video made a HUGE difference when my wife and I went out, on our brand new boards today,. even though we both had experience paddling but usually on calm waters. One thing I think is missing in the video and would very much like a few tips about, even if just in the comments: The way back onto the beach... as it can be even more difficult with the waves suddenly accelerating you towards the beach and with them at your back as you're trying to carry the board out.

We're so glad you liked the video. Thanks for your feedback about getting out from the waves and back to the beach. It's all about timing and reading the waves to make a dash for it when the waves are low. We will create a video and information around this soon. Thanks, Beau

Thank u so much for this video. I learned to SUP in lakes and dams, and was pretty nervous about trying it in the sea bc of the waves. This made me more confident.

Great video, thanks. Although Im not a total grom on the water and have caught a few waves now, watching the 'fails' was like a comedy impersonation of my first efforts last week! Now Im keen to get out tomorrow and practice what you showed in this series - thanks again!

Excellent advice. I can add that forcefully washing on a shore often means good buy to your fin or fin box or both. And sometimes it is just not a good day to get through the surf.

@SUPboardermag2 жыл бұрын
Good points. We have covered these in some other videos such as this one: kzbin.info/www/bejne/fJ3ChWljZZ2Jg5o Always best to use a rip to your advantage when paddling out. And be careful with those shore dumps! Time it well. Cheers, Beau

Great video, also be careful of wind. It once picked up my board and hit me in the face hard, knocked me silly and I had to turn straight back onto the beach to reevaluate
