The reason for the seedings is something completely different. Since the super 8 is scheduled to take place in the Caribbean Islands, all of the commute between the islands has to happen via flights so the seedings were given in advance by the ICC so that the fans and the teams can plan their travel in advance. Also the major reason was so that the fans of different countries travelling out could make their travel and living arrangements in advance since they would be knowing where their team would be playing the super 8 matches irrespective of the fact whether they qualify first or second in the group.

Watched Munjya Yesterday, was looking around for a medium to pass my comments to Taran bhai, that you were the main Lead pf the movie. Both me and my wife agrees that if you weren’t there in the movie and playing your character so brilliantly, it wouldn’t have been that big Hit.

@@ApexPredator21 nahh bro india playing on 22 as well as 24 and india matches scheduled on different time because of those matches generate more Revenue to broadcasting...if you check clearly most of England matches are 10 PM ist , 12:30AM ist for same reason...even in super 8s England have 2 8PM matches

3:25 sabse badi reason: logistics. Aaj carribbean mein har location only via flights tum jaa sakte. If mereko meri team ka foreseeable schedule and venue nahi pata hoga then fans ko move around karna at the last moment is near to impossible. + Better for the teams to assess and plan for the venues they might play in as the seeds are pre-decided. Give or take, Us location ke liye behtar hain

Another reason for pre defined seedings is timezone issue, so that all matches of teams are in their friendly timezone like all matches of India are at 8PM IST.

Taran is wrong about why seeding is used in T20 WC. Seeding is not used for business reasons. It is used to consider ICC rankings of a team over the last few months instead of group stage performance in the fast-paced tournament. Taran is also wrong about why Ind vs Aus has been scheduled on a Monday. It has nothing to do with Pakistan qualifying or not qualifying for the Super 8.
