Adding to the list of bad video game representation on TV, there's an episode of Two and a Half Men where the kid gets "the new Final Fantasy game" and is playing it later, and can't talk cuz he's concentrating, while his thumbs are moving at a million miles and hour on the controller, clearly playing an intense, high-speed game. The box is for FFX, a turn-based game that you could play with one hand; it's so slow.

The " other guy " in the Jackie Chan & Sammo Hung movies they all are watching is named Yuen Biao. They actually all grew up together in an acting school in China. There is some cool interview footage of them talking about their days in training together and how brutal Sammo's teacher was to him. Look up a movie called The Deadliest Art if anyone wants to see some of those interviews. It also highlights from over 30 of the coolest martial arts movies ever, and is narrated by John Saxon. Anyone who loves martial arts needs to check this one out.

I can confirm. The fight was fantastic.

Jackie's opponent in "Gorgeous" is Brad Allan, an Australian and long-time member of the Jackie Chan Stunt Team. The fight is great, if a bit goofy. Allan is amazing, though you can tell that Jackie is starting to slow down a tiny bit due to age. I think Allan also subbed in on some shots (despiye the major height difference) for the kicking guy in the climactic fight in "Who Am I?" because that guy was reportedly such a chump.

Heres the problem with this video. Ip Man 1, 2 and not released at that time 3 are part of a series A series which The Legend is Born: Ip Man; Ip Man - The Final Battle; The Grandmasters are not part of. Ip Man is today's generation Wong Fei Hung. Both are Foshan residents, both trained Kung Fu, and both eventually had their lives portrayed and heavily inflated in the big screens. They're Icons. They represent Southern Kung Fu to the world. They're the ideal chinese man. They're not there to accurately represent their lives. The industry uses facts about their lives to paint this legendary hero, that all chinese man should strive to be. Ip Man did study in an catholic school; Ip man did train with Leung-Bik; Ip man did train police officers and other people; Ip man did move to hong kong and open a school. Did Ip Man fight the Japanese Generals? No. Did Ip Man fight the British Devils? No. Did Ip Man have a Sworn Brother who was a Ninja? No. Did Ip Man survive a punch from Mike Tyson? No. At the end of the day Ip Man was just a cop, who ran away from Foshan after the Communist Takeover to live in Hong Kong and along the way taught some people. But Ip Man isn't just a dude, in the cinema, Ip Man is the symbol of Southern China. Perharps is too soon to call him that compared to Wong Fei-Hung who is truly on another level. with over 100 movies featuring him, Wong Fei-Hung is quite frankly the most famous Legendary Kung Fu figure in the world. Wong perharps did have a more heroic life than the historic Ip Man, but it doesn't matter, as his life has been so portrayed in the screens that from one portrayal to the other the character changes wildly. For example, Jet Li's Wong Fei-Hung is probably the most famous version of the hero, but he is VERY different from Jackie's portrayal of the Hero in his Druken Master series, which ends with him retarded after drinking industrial alcohol. On another point Ip Man 3 with Donnie Yen, is my favorite Ip Man, because its fundamentally different from the other two movies from the trilogy.

People are nationalist jerks everywhere, Dab. It's hard not to be when everyone you encounter talks about how awesome people like them are, and how much everyone that isn't like them sucks. You do the exact same thing about something, if not your country; I'd bet god damn anything on it. With all that said? Get stuffed, Justin; some of "us westerners" think other cultures are super rad, including China, and I'm one of them, except toward people who say shit like "you westerners/easterners/foreigners/whatever the fuck" and make blanket statements about people they don't even know because of something some jerk on the internet said. _Those_ people are as bad as any asshole American.
