@@EvilMariobot It was developed by Gametec (or atleast it is likely that it was, nobody seems to know for sure) And they seemingly have a history of bootlegged games. Atleast they did a good job with this. You can't say that for most bottleg games.

I remember playing Bubble Bobble on my Playstation when I was a kid. I loved Bubble Bobble so much! My three most favorite bosses in this game for the Sega Genesis are the cute-looking sorceress, the spinning Japanese robot doll and the evil wicked ice fairy. Good job annihilating those bosses without taking any damage!

the game is a weird downport (in the loosest sense since it runs on the same hardware) of an arcade game that's basically the same thing with cosmetic changes and level-reordering

I had no idea there was a Genesis Bubble Bobble! I always thought it was just the original on NES, and I used to wonder why one of my favorite, most cherished and adored game never got any sequels! I'm now learning there were tons of other Bubble Bobble installments across all platforms! Why am I just hearing about this? I would lament to other gamers about the lack of sequels for Bubble Bobble, and they unanimously agreed! Suddenly there are all these Bubble Bobble games that supposedly existed in my childhood, and you expect me to believe it? Is this like the Mandela Effect?
