It definitely wasn't an issue for the Super C, it towed with no issues. As long as it was towed the way you did it was the correct way in my opinion. It was close as far as tongue weight wise, but pulling it is no problem for the engine itself.

Good info guys, thx. Re; an overloaded tongue, I like to look under any prospective coach purchase to see what the frame extension rails look like. Next to realize though is your tire capacity on the rear axle, when overloaded. The tire pressures can rise 15 psi and if older than 7 years it is likely to have full belt seperation at highway speeds, which takes out the cabinet behind the tire. Keep it safe and consider wearing boots when around heavy equipment like trailers. Safe travels!

Glad you made this video. I have a piece of property in northern New Mexico that I definitely need a 4 x 4 RV like a super c … I drive LTL hook trailers at night and have a good experience and a lot of weight towing. I guess I’ll be looking for a Ford 4 x 4 chassis on the 550 or a super RV for my family.

This is an unknowing women trying to look smart, the 14000 GVWR is not the weight of the trailer, then she gave up when she could not understand the sticker in door. Than truck and trailer is about 12 000 to 13 000 pound, if her super C towing capacity is 20 000 they are not pushing that much to the limit, like she keep saying the entire video.

Hi Gil, Thanks for taking your time to view the video and leaving your feedback. Our Super C model is a 2020 SV34 with a tow rating of 10K. The curt hitch we used has a 20K capacity to carry the 14K trailer. Hope that helps you out. Thanks again for taking time out of your schedule to review and leave a comment.

About 65mph seems to run pretty well, we have pushed it a lil and its done really well. We also pay attention to the turbo boost gauge and not to over throttle

Were getting about 9-10mpg with towing. We are more on the low-mid 9's because Kevin had a lead foot 😉

That factory hitch is a class 4 hitch that's rated for 10,000 with a 1000 pound tongue. The drop hitch you referenced is rated for 20k but the hitch itself that's attached to the frame is only a class 4. So you dangerously exceeded the manufactures specs. BYW. The frame extensions under your bed room are bolted on by Thor. They work loose which is why they only put on a class 4 hitch. Even if you put on a class 5 hitch the frame from the manufacturer, thor not Ford, will not warranty any failure. Furthermore if you lost your load or broke your rv in half you are 100% liable for criminal negligence.

I was told at Oshkosh, by a large Super C dealer, a CDL is not required for an RV, no matter how big. Whether that applies to towing? I don't know. But, weren't you over the hitch rating? I thought the Thor could tow 20K lbs? That trailer must have weighed 6K lbs. by its self. Guess I was wrong... The main thing is, you got the 7.3 home without a problem.. Good for you!!!

@@azcharlie2009 you have been told wrong ANY vehicle with a combined weight over 26k lbs needs a commercial Drivers License. Most common for motorized is class B. Don't let the salesman lie 🤥 to you.

@@azcharlie2009 Yeah for the RV CDL isnt required. I think it was more of the weight we towed and we normally dont ever tow like that. We pushed it for sure. And yes the 7.3 is home we made it safe and sound 🤗

@@Titanlessmatt I just looked it up and there are six states that have this requirement. However, if you're from any of the other states that don't require it, you are good to go even driving in those states that require it... Sorry.
